Actually that sounds more like sexual slavery than Marriage. The Greeks had a word for that: inappropriate contentas. From that word we get inappropriate contentography (writings of sex slaves) and inappropriate contentia, commonly translated as fornication in English bibles. Both are rightly and roundly condemned in scripture.

Of course they were married, Mary also had several other children by Joseph.

The early Church fathers saw sex in marriage as a sin; one that God barely tolerated in order to have children.

Some of the early church fathers were obviously little more than wolves in sheep's clothing teaching doctrines of demons.
