Look again in Heb 8 and 10 about the New Covenant we are talking about....The NT is Greek..... so the word "Nomos" is our target.
The same word Paul used to say....we're not under the law. ;)
Wow, classic example of blindly following your translation of the Bible without backing it up with witnesses.
If Paul is directly quoting Jeremiah 31, then we know that the word translated nomos, is the Hebrew word Torah.
And if you know anything about the Hebrew word Torah, you'd know that it refers to God's Instructions, including His Law.

--so if you believe that "we are not under the law" actually means "we no longer have to obey and follow God's Instructions" --what "Law" is the one that is to be written on our hearts in the New Covenant?

In fact if your understanding of “under the law” is true, that means that no one who kept God’s commandments, from Moses, through David to the disciples to Paul are or were actually saved. Because Paul says that those under grace are not under the law. So if they continued keeping God’s commandments even after they were saved by grace through faith, aka coming “under grace” how do you reconcile all the believers in the Bible who continued keeping God’s commandments. Isn’t it one or the other? Either you’re under grace or you are choosing to keep God’s commandments (therefore remaining UNDER the Law—according to your understanding of it)?

When you understand that ten.com placed in the ark of the covenant was actually the covenant, call me.:)
Do you seriously believe that 10 rules = the Mosaic Covenant?
Last time I checked the Mosaic Covenant included, blessings, curses, provisions, promises, consequences, life and death--along with rules, regulations, instructions and teachings.
If you really want to limit the Covenant to 10 rules...you are free to do so.
Last time i checked, a covenant is an agreement to follow and abide by the provisions and instructions of said covenant. The Covenant is NOT the rules themselves.

Have you looked at your automobile insurance lately?
Some primary features includes the beginning and end date of your policy. It tells who is covered to drive your vehicle. It gives limitation of speed limits, approved roads, and borders within your country.

The rules stated with your policy is the law until the policy expires.

The purpose of a covenant is to establish a binding agreement for all parties involved.

Three Covenants, Sun, Moon, Stars
"The Sun to rule by day; Moon and Stars to rule by night."Ps.136;8,9

The heavenly bodies which can be seen in the sky bring us light. The stars bring just a glimmer and a twinkle, the moon reflects a dull pale light and the Sun illuminates the world into full daylight. In the Bible the Sun, the Moon and the Stars are used allegorically to represent the three rules of governance in this world.

"Thus saith the Lord, which giveth the Sun for a light by day, and the ordinances of the moon and of the stars for a light by night,....." Jer.31;36

Just as the heavenly bodies each shine differing degrees of light unto us, so too do the three laws or ordinances give us different degrees of understanding and protection.

1. The Stars represent the words of the Prophets which brought the tribes of Israel advice and understanding.

2. The Moon represents the written law of Justice which Moses taught to the tribes of Israel to prepare them to enter into the Old Testament land and Covenant. It called for the enforcement of "an eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth." Ex.21;24

3. The Sun represents the New Christian Covenant that teaches us to add "Compassion and Mercy" to the law of Justice. This was demonstrated to us when Jesus continued to heal on the Sabbath. (He was kind even when it opposed the law) Mt.12;10 Mk.3;2 Lk.6;7 Jn.7;23

The Sun, the Moon and the Stars were all created on the 4th day of Genesis. Gen.1;16 But each of them shines a different type of light and represents a different law. They each have their own type of people to whom they appeal. They each have their own flocks to guide. This is what I Cor.15;41 means when it says;

"There is one glory of the sun, and another glory of the moon, and another glory of the stars."

THE CALENDARS OF THE OLD AND NEW TESTAMENTS.

".........and the evening and the morning were the first day." Gen.1;5

Under the Old Testament the night(moon) came before the daytime(sun). They therefore arranged their calendar to follow the moon.(360 days)

Under the New Testament"s Christianity which is represented as "the Sun," the calendar was set to have 365 days in a year.
