My Mum had a fall this afternoon and was rushed to hospital where she underwent a 3 hour operation to remove a subdural haematoma. She is now heavily sedated with a machine doing her breathing for her (because of the sedation). She is currently stable but will be kept unconcious for at least a day while they determine if they managed to remove all of the clot and whether there is further bleeding.

Daphne is in her 80's and is already very frail. I very much covet your prayers for her over these next few days.

Lord Jesus Christ, Son of God, have mercy on, save, protect, and fortify your handmaiden Daphne during her tribulation. Amen.

A positive update and thank you for all your prayers.
My Mum has been steadily improving. She is conversing much more freely now, only occasionally getting stuck on a word. As such we've asked her about other friends coming to visit and she is happy for them to come now. Up until now it has only been family, as it would have been too stressful for her to try and converse with many of her friends.
The nasal feeding tube has been removed, much to her relief, although now she has to force herself to eat what she describes as tasteless stodge, otherwise known as hospital food. She has got her sense of humor back.
She cannot remember her date of birth, which she finds interesting though not distressing. She also tried reading her Bible but found it to be just a jumble of words.
So much healing has occurred and while there is still more that she needs, she looks more and more that she will make a very good recovery and be able to return to her unit in the retirement village.
Glory to God!

My Mum has been moved to Rehab for about a week now where she has continued to improve significantly. In fact there are others in Rehab who are quite jealous of her because they've been there longer and haven’t made nearly as much progress.
The social worker has indicated that she may even be discharged at the beginning of next week and be able to return home, albiet with continued monitoring for the next couple of months.
Glory to God!

That IS good news. And boy, do we need some.

In your charity, I would ask for prayers for the repose of my good friend’s mother, Rimma (She was Orthodox). She died of covid last week.

An update on my Mum and request for your prayers.
As some know from my posts on other threads, my Mum had a number of adverse reactions to the Covid vaccine, which all came to a head when she was found unconscious in her unit some weeks ago. She has been in hospital ever since, and during that time developed a blockage in her abdomen, likely due to scar tissue after surgery for bowel cancer over a decade ago. The blockage can only be dealt with through major surgery, which simply isn't an option in her frail condition. So my mother is now in palliative care. She is unable to eat due to the blockage and is being kept on a slow constant morphine dose so she can be comfortable.
This has been a terrible blow to our family after her miraculous recovery from her brain injury, but we know that death comes to us all, sooner or later. Please keep Daphne in your prayers for a peaceful repose. Her trust is in God whom she loves and we know God loves her. Lord have mercy.
