Time to move forward then. Bring on single payer.
We eventually will go through the cycle that other nations went through. Single payer, unhappiness with the results, return to a mixture of public/private insurance.

The same American government that cant live within its own means, passes compromised bills full of pork projects, will take over the healthcare system, and remediate in the same way.

"If you like your doctor you can keep your doctor". His salary will be cut in half to conform with the current utopian models in the east.

And the GOP plan is .........
The GOP seems to have lost the will to attempt to implement any of the plans it once endorsed. Its inevitable, we cant afford either direct payment for healthcare nor the insurance. We will all need to settle for crumby single payer, its only a matter of time.

I know what you mean.

That was the problem with Obamacare. Nancy Pelosi had to pass the legislation before anyone could read it.
Good heavens, that canard again? Of course they had to pass or fail all the amendments (which Republicans contributed to in an effort to undermine the bill) to find out which amendments would be in the final legislation. How could it be otherwise?

I would expect that providers would see reimbursement rates go down some but they will also have a higher percentage of claims that actually pay. They will also see a cost savings in overhead by reducing staff needed to get insurance claims and patient balances paid.

Imagine that, if you pull out the various "supports" that make something work, it no longer works. It is much like a table, if you remove the legs than the table no longer works. While ObamaCare was never perfect, the fact remains that removing various provisions, as has been done since Republicans have still never been able to kill the Affordable Care act, kills its ability to be effective.

But it never worked. It was set up and designed to be a failure from the beginning to make way for single payer.

Wasn't Trump going to repeal "Obamacare" first thing after becoming president?

It's been over 2.5 years. I think that at this point, we should call it Trumpcare.
From what I been told by Conservative Christians was they really wanted to get rid of Obama care and not replace it with anything.

I can't agree with that. It was designed originally to work but, after the various amendments that the insurance companies and others added, it then had real issues. Unless you mean the Republicans, who forced many of the amendments, designed those amendments so it would fail "from the beginning" -- that I can agree with.

It's amazing how much other nations are clamoring to adopt any of our ideas in healthcare. Since they're so dissatisfied...

It will be interesting to see how things play out when Americans can get prescription drugs from Canada and other countries at the much lower cost non-US price.

One suspects there will be wailing and gnashing of teeth when foreign drug prices suddenly start going up.

Well, we could always address why the Canadian drugs are cheaper in the first place.

OK do you want us to implement something like the Canadian drug pricing system?
Not at all. I'm merely observing that the Trump administration is going to allow Americans to purchase prescription drugs directly from Canada at Canadian prices. Obviously, that will wreak havoc with the artificially low Canadian prices if very many people take advantage of it.

It will be interesting to watch.

OK, well the "exactly!" doesn't really make sense to me then.

How would you like to address the difference in price between American and Canadian drugs?

By allowing Americans to go there and buy drugs?

Another Study Confirms Obamacare Is The Unaffordable Care Act

A recently released analysis by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) confirms what Democrats themselves have admitted: Obamacare has priced millions out of the market for health insurance.
...
The large percentages of unsubsidized people dropping coverage in many states — in most cases, because they could not afford their rapidly escalating premiums — show the unstable nature of the Obamacare “marketplaces.” With only people who qualify for subsidies able to afford their premiums, most states’ insurance markets have become dependent on the morphine drip of subsidies from Washington.

In other words, the preexisting condition provisions have proven the largest factor in pricing literally millions of people out of their health insurance coverage. This mean[ s ], ironically enough, such people now have no coverage should they develop any such condition.
...
American people need to know the answers and need to understand the effects of Obamacare. Liberals wouldn’t have you know it, but families care more about the affordability of health coverage than about losing their coverage due to a preexisting condition. Reforms codified by the Trump administration will help provide portable and more affordable coverage to many Americans and represent one of several better solutions to tackle the preexisting condition problem.
Imagine that, pre-existing conditions making coverage more expensive. It was purely predictable.

Trust us
we need to pass this thing into law quickly
and then later we will find our what's in it.

Even the goats didn't buy that line.
And now we all suffer.
Obama sure is being quiet these days?
