Name: Annie Jameson

Age: 26

Appearance: With a round, happy face, Annie is tall, standing at 5 feet and 11 and ¾ inches. She has grey eyes and long, brown, braided hair. Annie wears simple dresses around home, but when she’s planning on traveling, she prefers to wear a combination of brown leather boots, a green tunic and a grey, woolen cloak.

Weapons: Knife - Annie is comfortable with using her knife, but her ability with it is barely beyond basic self defense.

Sling - Annie’s natural talent with a sling has been moving toward its potential through practice, though there is a difference between accurately hitting distant trees, and accurately hitting moving targets.

Background: It was rumored, in the village where Annie was born, that her mother had been attempting to gasp out the name “Anna” for her child, but somehow the last syllable, which would have added the popular “ah” sound to the end of the baby’s name, was lost. Her father had noticed the lack of ending vowel, and hastily added an “ee” sound to the name, but the damage was done…

Of course, this was all conjecture among the Leena’s, Emma’s, and Jenna’s of the village, and probably not fact.

However, it was true that Annie was strikingly lacking in talent related to many feminine pursuits, talent which her older sister, Alyssa, possessed with abundance. She could sew well, but so often ruined her dresses climbing trees or spilling things while cooking that she settled for making the plainest clothes possible for herself. Her interest in finding a husband was minimal, mostly because she knew husbands liked wives who could make them meals. Her cooking, which was at the least unhealthy, if not equivalent to a murder attempt, was her main struggle. Her mother was the cook at the inn in town, and was convinced that Annie’s inability to cook was a tragedy worse than an inability to walk would’ve been. She would have despaired if Annie had not been able to sew and otherwise run a household. Despair was thus pushed away, as she continued to try to increase Annie’s skill in the kitchen.

Annie visited the inn the first night her mother sent her out of the house after a failed meal, a first which started a tradition of visiting the place after failures to laugh about the burnt remains of her meals with the other patrons. Thus, when her mother kicked her out of the house in another bout of despair one night when Annie was 19, she went straight to the tavern to think about what to do next.

The next morning, Annie’s mother was shocked to discover that instead of going to Alyssa’s home for the night, Annie had left town with a group of travelers. She returned a few weeks later, a little wiser, homesick, and entirely too excited about the world outside the small village for her parents liking. Over the next few years, the story repeated itself often, with various destinations around Christia and longer visits, as Annie tried to find a role in life that involved as little cooking as possible.

Her latest destination was Kirshweir, in Peria. She had been there for a few months, working as a seamstress with a couple of cloth merchants, when the elves invaded. Annie had no taste for life under an occupying army, and took the first chance she had to slip out of the city. She then proceeded to the nearest village, helping the innkeeper with odds and ends in exchange for room and board, in hopes of conserving her funds while she planned her next move…
