What do you do when your Android phone stops giving you notifications on top like new emails in your GMail or app notifications?

Can you check gmail to see if you have any mail?
Checking from time to time would solve most of the problem.

I would dance a jig and sing a salutation to the gremlins of technology.
but that may just be me, I hate the constant notifiers and keep turning them off - repeatedly.

There's a few different sub-sections in the Settings that will differ from phone to phone and version to version (but mostly phone to phone, which is a bit annoying). There is a "Notifications" section somewhere you can fiddle through.

If you go to "Apps" in the Settings, find any apps that are playing up and make sure that notifications are enabled for those as well.

What version are you running? (Settings -> About Phone -> Software Information -> Android Version)

6.0.1

I don't see any "Notifications" category.

Maybe I will just factory reset my phone.

It could be shoved somewhere else. I'm running 7.0 and using Samsung's ROM so it's not going to be the same, annoyingly.

That will certainly fix it. :p

Mine is 6 something. Go to settings, . Then sound and notification, scroll down to app notifications, then it's every app for themselves.

( edit to add ) double checked, mine is 6.0.1
