Jesus comes to open up the Scriptures to our hearing ears….and we must overcome our own religious thoughts and ways for His as heavenly interpretation of the Scriptures which will not “conform” to the private interpretations of the “word of men”.

1Th 2:12-16 KJV
(12) That ye would walk worthy of God, who hath called you unto his kingdom and glory.

We are to hear and BELIEVE ….receiving it as the true the Word of God.

(13) For this cause also thank we God without ceasing, because, when ye received the word of God which ye heard of us, ye received it not as the word of men, but as it is in truth, the word of God, which effectually worketh also in you that believe.

When we do this, we shall be persecuted by our own church “family” (the unbelievers who will not receive it) for the receiving of it….but we must stand firm in our faith.

(14) For ye, brethren, became followers of the churches of God which in Judaea are in Christ Jesus: for ye also have suffered like things of your own countrymen, even as they have of the Jews:
(15) Who both killed the Lord Jesus, and their own prophets, and have persecuted us; and they please not God, and are contrary to all men:
(16) Forbidding us to speak to the Gentiles that they might be saved, to fill up their sins alway: for the wrath is come upon them to the uttermost.

He sends His messengers (“angels”) to speak His words in the Truth for the perfecting of the saints, for the work of ministry, for the building of the body of Christ….

Eph 4:11-14 KJV
(11) And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;
(12) For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:

…until we come in the unity (oneness) of the faith and of the FULL KNOWLEDGE of the Son of God…

(13) Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ:

….so that we shall no longer be children TOSSED TO AND FRO (as the waves of the sea) by every wind of doctrine (the 4 winds) being preached by deceitful men.

We overcome and stand upon the “sea of glass” as we are no longer tossed to and fro by the waves of the sea. We stand firm upon it in the unity of our FAITH.

(14) That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive

Jesus interprets the Scriptures with the fullness of the Spirit of God….the 7 Spirits of God…and we will be judged (before the throne) according to how we react to the hearing of His voice that speaks to us.

Rev 4:5-6 KJV
(5) And out of the throne proceeded lightnings and thunderings and voices: and there were seven lamps of fire burning before the throne, which are the seven Spirits of God.

Some will hear and have FAITH in what they hear….acknowledging that this is the Son of God speaking. They shall no longer be tossed to and fro by the “sea” as they will then stand firm by their faith upon it.

The sea of glass is like “crystal”….crystal ROCK which is firm....solid.

(6) And before the throne there was a sea of glass like unto crystal: and in the midst of the throne, and round about the throne, were four beasts full of eyes before and behind.

They will have gotten the victory over the preaching of “another jesus” (the 1st beast of Revelation 13) by false prophets. They will no longer worship the church handwritings of church ordinances (the “image”) which are being used to worship the beast (another jesus). They will no longer glorify man’s church institutions but will instead now glorify God.

They will stand firm in their faith ….no longer being tossed to and fro by the “sea”.

The sea of glass was mingled with “fire” as their faith shall be tested by the “fire” of those who will persecute them for believing what the Lord Jesus speaks.

They will have the “harps” of God….that is, they will REJOICE in God in their glorifying Him. The “harp” signifies the heart rejoicing….making melody in the heart in thanksgiving for “meat” of the Word of Truth.

Rev 15:2-3 KJV
(2) And I saw as it were a sea of glass mingled with fire: and them that had gotten the victory over the beast, and over his image, and over his mark, and over the number of his name, stand on the sea of glass, having the harps of God.
(3) And they sing the song of Moses the servant of God, and the song of the Lamb, saying, Great and marvellous are thy works, Lord God Almighty; just and true are thy ways, thou King of saints.

They will “harp” their harps….having the harps of God….singing and making melody in the heart to the Lord. They will give THANKS for all things unto God and the Father in the name (authority) of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Eph 5:19-20 KJV
(19) Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord;
(20) Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ;

The stand firm in their faith of what they will hear in thanksgiving for it to God. They will REJOICE (having the harps of God) as they stand upon the “sea of glass mingled with fire”…..the “fire” of the trial of their faith.

1Pe 1:6-7 KJV
(6) Wherein ye greatly rejoice, though now for a season, if need be, ye are in heaviness thr
ough manifold temptations:
(7) That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire,
might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ:

Again, there will be a “fiery trial” which shall try those who will receive the true Word of God as spoken in the Spirit of God.

1Pe 4:12-13 KJV
(12) Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened unto you
:

But we are to REJOICE in those trials which makes us then partakers of Christ’s sufferings.

(13) But rejoice, inasmuch as ye are partakers of Christ's sufferings; that, when his glory shall be revealed, ye may be glad also with exceeding joy.

The “light affliction” will only be for a moment and does not compare for the far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory that shall be revealed when the eternal life of Jesus shall be revealed in our outer mortal flesh. No man can then take away our joy as the Son is born into the world as His eternal life is made manifest in our mortal body which makes us a son of God.

2Co 4:17 KJV
(17) For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory;

When Christ, who is our life, shall appear….shine outwardly in our mortal flesh…then we shall also appear with Him in glory. We shall live as He lives by having His eternal life be made manifest in our mortal flesh for this world to see….and those who will see and believe will glorify God.

Col 3:4 KJV
(4) When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory.

Jesus walked “on the sea”…..and so we must stand firm on the “sea” in our faith of what we hear Him saying in the Spirit of God and not be troubled by the “boisterous” wind of others who persecute us for believing in what we hear Him saying.

Mat 14:25-34 KJV
(25) And in the fourth watch of the night Jesus went unto them, walking on the sea.
(26) And when the disciples saw him walking on the sea, they were troubled, saying, It is a spirit; and they cried out for fear.
(27) But straightway Jesus spake unto them, saying, Be of good cheer; it is I; be not afraid.
(28) And Peter answered him and said, Lord, if it be thou, bid me come unto thee on the water.
(29) And he said, Come. And when Peter was come down out of the ship, he walked on the water, to go to Jesus.

Others will persecute us (the boisterous wind)….trying our faith in Him by the “fire” of their persecutions.

(30) But when he saw the wind boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink, he cried, saying, Lord, save me.

The standing upon the sea of glass mingled with fire is about standing firm by faith even in the face of persecutions by the unbelievers in our “church”.

(31) And immediately Jesus stretched forth his hand, and caught him, and said unto him, O thou of little faith, wherefore didst thou doubt?
(32) And when they were come into the ship, the wind ceased
.

We confess Him…. “you are the Son of God”.

(33) Then they that were in the ship came and worshipped him, saying, Of a truth thou art the Son of God.

“Gennesaret” = HARPS. We then cross from death unto life…..REJOICING in the heart.

(34) And when they were gone over, they came into the land of Gennesaret.

We are to count it all JOY when we fall into many temptations….as those who will persecute us will cause a temptation to return evil for their evil speaking of us. But this is how our faith is TRIED.

Jas 1:2-8 KJV
(2) My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations;

We must be patient (that is, ENDURE) in our faith…standing upon the sea of glass mingled with fire.

(3) Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience.
(4) But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.
(5) If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.

Those who waver in faith is like a “wave of the sea” driving with the wind and tossed.

(6) But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed.
(7) For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord.
(8) A double minded man is unstable in all his ways.
