Has anyone ever heard of a denomination in the southern rural regions, especially East Tennessee, called the "American Christian Church". If so, I was wondering if they are a branch of the "Desciples of Christ" or the "Churches of Christ" or soom other root. There are several of them close to where I live, all of them a way out in the country.

Never heard of the American Christian Church, but there is a group called the American Evangelical Christian Church, which, as far as I know, has nothing to do with the Restoration Movement. The AECC was started in 1944.

OK, I didn't think anyone would know. I don't think the one you mentioned is related. These churches are very small and several exist around East Tennessee. I've seen their pastors do funerals for relatives. The only name they have is "American Christian Church".
