For many years now , christians when reading bible prophecy about the end times , have always wondered where America is in the end time story , well maybe now we know. Maybe what we are seeing today is only the begining of the demise of a once great power.

We teamed up with Faith Counseling. Can they help you today?

Yeah not sure what the ultimate outcome will be, but for the time being and despite the numbers I see a lot of positivity in general and a gradual adjustment to new normal routines. The grocery stores are a bit bare in areas, especially frozen food, still toilet paper, laundry detergent (which I didn't expect), cleaning supplies, granola bars, instant cereal and bottled water. Yet what one store is out of, you can often find at a different store. You just have to go hunting a bit. My main annoyance, aside from the shortage of hygienic supplies, is even the Mexican foods are sold out! How will I survive?? ^_^

Albeit, you can tell there is concern below the surface. I had to return to my workplace today to pick up some products for photography (I had to create a makeshift photo studio at home) and I greeted one of my co-workers who was there and he just stared at me and said nothing.

We had a phrase on a marker board that all of us had been updating for fun: "Happiness is ____". So we would fill in the last part with things such as "Happiness is a free lunch", "Happiness is Reese's", "Happiness is a choice", etc. It now says "Happiness is no more COVID-19".

Before I left I was asked to package something for shipment and another co-worker walked up and we talked for a bit. But he stood far away and our conversation didn't really go anywhere much, which is opposite of what you'd expect for not having seen each other for three weeks! But, speaking for myself, there were a lot of things going through my head about all of this and it's just hard to know how to talk about it without seeming overly pessimistic or sound like you're encouraging conspiracy theories. So I just kind of ended with "Well, I'll see you some day..." and that was that. Kind of sad.

Hello @brian57, the are a numbers of similar changes that happen within a society that precede the decline and fall of a civilization (consider the societal changes that preceded the fall of Rome, for instance), but pandemics are not among them. In fact, I believe this COVID-19 pandemic may actually work to strengthen and solidify our society, rather than destroy it (at least in the short run).

We know that the Lord has stepped in and destroyed civilizations in the past because of their raging, decadent behavior (e.g. Sodom/Gomorrah), and I believe that this has continued to be the case throughout history (consider the disappearance of the great Mayan Civilization and its people, for instance) when what becomes acceptable behavior to a society becomes utterly unacceptable to God (right before the Mayan's all but disappeared from the Earth they began the ritual practice of human sacrifice, for instance).

Western Civilization has been in decline since the 1960's, and I believe that it will fall (perhaps much sooner than later, actually) unless something changes our present course, as we already have most of the earmarks of a society in rapid decline.

Perhaps the Lord will tarry no longer and the end of the age will come upon us before that happens :)

    Hi brian,

I was taught many, many years ago that America is revealed in Daniel`s vision.

    The Lion in Daniel

Daniel recorded: `The first was like a lion & had wings like an eagle.` (Dan. 7:4)

O.Neubecker, Director of the `International Academy of heraldry,` & the foremost authority in this field, explains –

`The appearance of a lion as a heraldic beast by no means indicates that it forms part of the native fauna of that country; its use comes from the significance attributed to it. The lion is the symbol of Royal Sovereignty & the eagle the symbol of Imperial Power.`

In combination we have the initial clue to the identity of this first contemporary super-power to emerge. A sovereign Monarchy which exercised imperialistic power over a substantial area of the world. i.e. A empire ruled by a monarch.

Further revelation was given to Daniel.

    `As I looked its wings were plucked off.` (Dan. 7: 4)

There is a fascinating double reference in this –

    a) The empire lost its capacity for imperialistic expansion.

    b) Part of the empire became a separate nation with the eagle as its emblem.

`It was made to stand on two feet like a man; & the spirit of man was given to it.` (Dan.7: 4)

Here is transformation. Until now the outlook & operation had been that of a powerful beast, imperialistically conquering, dominating & colonising. Suddenly there is a remarkable change to the higer qualities of the spirit of man. In political language, co-existing in freedom, peace & equality with its former dominions. An empire becomes a Commonwealth of Nations.

Ezekiel, a contemporary of Daniel. confirms & elucidates the concept: -

`The merchants of Tarshish with its young lions.` (Ez. 38: 13)

Tarshish, as has been previously intimated, is universally accepted by scholars as referring to Great Britain. Young lions, offspring of the mother-lion are separate entities, yet when circumstances warrant, they join with her. In modern parlance, nations colonised from the imperialistic monarchy, i.e. Great Britain, now completely autonomous yet cooperating uniquely in common purpose as the British Commonwealth of Nations.

This has been exemplified particularly in all the wars this century. The Bible predicts that this will be the situation again in World war 3. See illustration - `The Empire needs men.` (recuiting poster – World War 2)

(Poster - `The Empire needs Men.` (Heading) with a picture of a lion & young lions. Underneath is written - `Australia, Canada, India, New Zealand. All answer the call. Helped by the yound lions the old lion defies his foes.`)

    O. Neubecker, Director of the International Academy of heraldry, corroborates: -

`The Lion, as a formal coat of arms, was derived from the arms of England & Scotland.`

H.M. Queen Elizabeth II as Head of the Commonwealth, broadcasted –

`The Commonwealth bears no resemblance to the empires of the past. It is an entirely new conception built on the highest qualities of the Spirit of Man: Friendship, loyalty & the desire for freedom & peace.`

I submit that this first super-power to emerge was the Great British Empire, currently, of course the British Commonwealth of Nations. The American Eagle, who also originally came from the mother lion will continue to be a dominant & integral part of this great confederacy.

Lets not forget the economic conditions guys , I just dont see us sailing out of this at all. When we get to the other side of this we could be looking at another depression.

It is quite debatable if the fall of civilizations is a result of divine intervention. There were actually quite a few factors that caused the fall of the Roman Empire. It is interesting that one of the factors was Christianity itself. In the centuries following Constantine we began a persecution of the pagans that involved the shuttering of schools and academies, the burning of libraries. the murder of pagan teachers, priests and philosophers, etc. This had the unintended side effect of the loss of the intellectual infrastructure of civilization --- mathematics, engineering, architecture, medicine and even literacy itself. I am reminded of your words:

I am really beginning to believe this was the whole idea to begin with. We have become lemmings and now they know that lies work on the world and they will not be afraid to us lies anymore. We gave our freedom, liberty, and freedom up for lies and slide right into communism.

All empires eventually come apart, so it's silly to believe that this one won't. So is this the Beginning of the End for the US? Probably not. And the fact is that in the great scheme of things, the US of A is probably just another political construct.
