Completely irrelevant to the point being made. The statement I was responding to "Strangers are dangerous" is purest xenophobia and as such unacceptable in an allegedly civilised and Christian society.

His point was that you don't really believe that yourself...

Like when someone puts more faith in Glock than the Lord?
We don't own any guns and never plan to. But, I guess it is ok. Jesus allowed Peter to have a sword while he was a disciple (which means some of the others could have had swords). But then when Peter used it that night on a guard when Jesus was arrested He told Peter not to use it at that time. So ? I would guess that means that we are free to have weapons, but as with those leaders in the old testament, we need to ALWAYS ask the Lord for wisdom in which circumstances to use it. Good thought though... Peace.
