Great collage of cherry picked verses except that they prove nothing. I wonder why you didn't use verse four in the collage?

Rom 10: 1Dear brothers and sisters, the longing of my heart and my prayer to God is for the people of Israel to be saved. 2 I know what enthusiasm they have for God, but it is misdirected zeal. 3 For they don’t understand God’s way of making people right with himself. Refusing to accept God’s way, they cling to their own way of getting right with God by trying to keep the law. 4 For Christ has already accomplished the purpose for which the law was given. As a result, all who believe in him are made right with God.

What those verses are not telling us is all who believe in Him and keep the Sabbath... 1jn 3:19-24 tells us we are of the truth if we believe in Jesus and love others as He commanded. God put love in our hearts so that we are able to give that love to others thus pleasing the one who gives us life and life eternal. Your prophet has you believing that if you don't keep the Sabbath you will not inherit eternal life. That is a blatant lie along with the many other lies she has her flock believing.

I have some hope for Adventism though. Yesterday I worshipped in an Adventist church and the beautiful sermon was on salvation by faith. It would parallel my Methodist pastors Christ centered messages. After the service I spent several minutes discussing with the pastor what he proclaimed in the service. He made a statement to me that was sad. He wondered if the flock understood what his sermon was all about. He was thrilled that I understood. I asked him when and if the church would ever accept what he believes. He said maybe slowly, but his eyes told a different story. He said we have to have hope. I truly believe many know the real truth and are staying in there hoping. Others only take the word of peers and don't study except for their "proof texts" they present to sheep of other flocks.

Beautiful verses, but I don't understand how you can use them to deny that the following verses (6-11) tell us that the 10 commandments were temporary. By not accepting the truth of Paul's writings you deny that we are not under the guidance of the Holy Spirit and tell us we are under the guidance of the ten commandments. Question: how could we have love in our hearts if the commandments are what is guiding us, since there is nothing about love in any of the ten? Love is the great theme of the New Testament. Doesn't it deserve a place in our hearts?

It is quite easily proven Bob, Exodus 20:8-11 is God's 4th commandment of the 10 commandments, rejected today by mainstream Christianity. Look around you Bob, how many of the 40,000 flavors of Christianity keep God's 4th commandment of Gods' 10 commandments that according to the scriptures, give us the knowledge of what sin is when broken (Romans 3:20; Romans 7:7; 1 John 3:4)?

@HIM was correct Bob, it is the ministration of condemnation and death that is done away through God's forgiveness, mercy and grace, not Gods' 10 commandments that give us the knowledge of what sin is when broken in the new covenant *Romans 3:20; Romans 7:7; 1 John 3:4. According to the scriptures 2 Corinthians 3 is not Gods 10 commandments becoming obsolete it is the ministration of condemnation and death that is replaced by the ministration of the Spirit that brings life and peace through Gods’ forgiveness and faith in Christ.

    Lets look at the scriptures.

    2 CORINTHIANS 3:3-18

[3], For as much as YOU ARE MANIFESTLY DECLARED TO BE THE LETTER OF CHRIST MINISTERED BY US, WRITTEN NOT WITH INK, BUT WITH THE SPIRIT OF THE LIVING GOD; NOT IN TABLES OF STONE, BUT IN FLESHY TABLES OF THE HEART.
[4], And such trust have we through Christ to God-ward:
    [5], Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think any thing as of ourselves; but our sufficiency is of God;
[6], WHO ALSO HAS MADE US ABLE MINISTERS OF THE NEW TESTAMENT; NOT OF THE LETTER, BUT OF THE SPIRIT: FOR THE LETTER KILLS, BUT THE SPIRIT GIVES LIFE.
[7], BUT IF THE MINISTRATION OF DEATH, WRITTEN AND ENGRAVED IN STONES, WAS GLORIOUS, SO THAT THE CHILDREN OF ISRAEL COULD NOT STEADFASTLY BEHOLD THE FACE OF MOSES FOR THE GLORY OF HIS COUNTENANCE; WHICH GLORY WAS TO BE DONE AWAY:
[8], HOW SHALL NOT THE MINISTRATION OF THE SPIRIT BE RATHER GLORIOUS?
[9], FOR IF THE MINISTRATION OF CONDEMNATION be glory, much more does the ministration of righteousness exceed in glory.
[10], For even that which was made glorious had no glory in this respect, by reason of the glory that excels.
[11], FOR IF THAT WHICH IS DONE AWAY WAS GLORIOUS, MUCH MORE THAT WHICH REMAINS IS GLORIOUS.
[12], Seeing then that we have such hope, we use great plainness of speech:
[13], AND NOT AS MOSES, WHICH PUT A VEIL OVER HIS FACE, THAT THE CHILDREN OF ISRAEL COULD NOT STEADFASTLY LOOK TO THE END OF THAT WHICH IS ABOLISHED:
[14], BUT THEIR MINDS WERE BLINDED: FOR UNTIL THIS DAY REMAINS THE SAME VEIL NOT TAKEN AWAY IN THE READING OF THE OLD TESTAMENT; WHICH VEIL IS DONE AWAY IN CHRIST.
[15], But even to this day, when Moses is read, the veil is on their heart.
[16], NEVERTHELESS WHEN IT SHALL TURN TO THE LORD, THE VEIL SHALL BE TAKEN AWAY.
[17], Now THE LORD IS THAT SPIRIT: AND WHERE THE SPIRIT OF THE LORD IS, THERE IS LIBERTY.
[18], But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the LORD.

    .....................

It is the ministration of condemnation and death by the letter that is done away by the ministration of the Spirit through God's mercy, grace and forgiveness through faith that works by love in fulfillment of Gods' new covenant promise (Hebrews 8:10-12; from Jeremiah 31:31-34 and Ezekiel 36:24-27) that is done away not God's 10 commandments. All God's 10 commandments do under the new covenant is to give us the knowledge of good (moral right doing) and evil (moral wrong doing); sin (moral wrong doing) and righteousness (moral right doing) *Romans 3:20: Romans 7:7; 1 John 3:4; Psalms 119:172. An interpretation that 2 Corinthians 3 is talking about abolishing Gods' 10 commandments has Paul in contradiction to Paul when he says in Romans 3:31 that faith does not abolish Gods' law it establishes God's law and again in Romans 13:8-10 where Paul says we love our neighbor as our self by being obedient to those laws in God's 10 commandments that show us our duty of love to our fellow man. Indeed the ministration of the Spirit is greater the than the ministration of the letter because while the letter brings death and condemnation while the Spirit brings life and forgiveness through Christ and writes the law on the heart through faith that works by love which is Gods' new covenant promise in all those who have been born again to believe and follow God's Word and walk in newness of life *John 3:3-7; 1 John 3:4-9; Hebrews 8:10-12 from Jeremiah 31:31-34 and Ezekiel 36:24-27; Romans 6:1-23. It is not therefore God’s 10 commandments that have become obsolete it is the ministration of condemnation and death through the ministration of God’s forgiveness and His sacrifice for our sins.

LGW, you seem to think you can paste the same argument over and over and it will somehow morph into truth. You might as well stop trying friend. The verses are very plain and they tell us the indwelling of the Holy Spirit has replaced the temporary commandments written on stone. The KJV says what was glorious has been done away. Have you even read what you paste into the posts? Nowhere in any of those verses does it even indicate anything about the ten commandments being placed in our hearts.

THE LETTER KILLS, BUT THE SPIRIT GIVES LIFE.

No one LGW and that includes you unless God accepts you lip service when you declare that you Keep them. By the way, those ten commandments were directly for only one nation. God has never handed tablets of stone with ten commandment written on them for any other nation. They ended at Calvary where our Savior ratified the new and better covenant that is for all nations. It does not contain a command to rest on a certain day and remember the flight out of Egypt. God is perfect, He extended salvation to Gentiles whose ancestry were never captive in Egypt. He wouldn't expect Gentiles to honor a day given only to Israel to commemorate now would He? Do you honor the day France was liberated by paying some sort of tribute?

Sorry Bob, I thought that is what you were doing. Our opinions do not really mean much in God's eyes. Only God's Word is truth therefore and we should believe and follow them according to Romans 3:4 and Acts of the Apostles 5:29. Please see the scriptures in post # 529 linked that disagree with your teachings. Happy to discuss them further with you if you want to?

Not really Bob, God's Israel in the new covenant are no longer only those born of the flesh of the seed of Abraham who believe Gods' Word. In the new covenant God's Israel is now all those who are born of the Spirit into God's new covenant promise through faith *see Romans 9:6-8; Galatians 2:28-29; Romans 3:28-29. If we are not born again into Gods Israel according to the scriptures we have no part in Gods new covenant promise. *Hebrews 8:10-12 from Jeremiah 31:31-34; Ezekiel 36:24-27.

How can we but notice you didn't respond to my opening statement that answered your question in post #523. You keep telling us that we have to "keep" the fourth commandment yet you will not comment on my statement denying that you really keep it. I submit to you that not one of the SDAs I have ever met ever really kept the Sabbath as the law prescribed yet you tell us we have to keep it or we are lawless. I contend that even if you could be correct, neither of us will inherit the Kingdom, you because you fail in your attempt and me because I do not believe the command is binding on Christians.

As far as we who believe in Jesus and love others as He loves us becoming spiritual Jews, I don't believe it and no one has ever proven such a thing, so I believe I am a child of God saved by His marvelous Grace and not by trying to keep laws that were not intended for me.

Did not need to Bob. You do not know me. Please read Romans 2:1-8
Bob do you believe these scriptures...

Philippians 4:13 I can do all things through Christ which strengthens me.

John 15:3-6 [3], Now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you.
[4], Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me. [5], I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abides in me, and I in him, the same brings forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing. [6], If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned.

1 John 3:4-6 [4], Whosoever commits sin transgresses also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law. [5], And ye know that he was manifested to take away our sins; and in him is no sin. [6], Whosoever abides in him sins not: whosoever sins hath not seen him, neither known him.

1 John 2:3-4 [3], And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments.
[4], He that said, I know him, and keeps not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.

Galatians 5:16 [16], This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh.

What do you think they mean?
    Please read Romans 2:1-8
    Scripture disagrees with you linked.

    Nice to see you again.

    Take Care Bob.

Whoa LGW, I need to clear something up with you. I didn't apologize for anything with you. The "to" was a mistake, but even so it would be a huge stretch to believe it concerned an apology, so don't get your hope up.

Cherry picked collage? Sad one has to be told they are all saying the same thing and have everything to do it. For Christ lived, died, and resurrected that we be one with him and God through His Spirit. That God’s Word, His Law through Christ be in our hearts. Not that out efficiency be of ourselves but of God. For it is He that works in us both to will and do His good pleasure

Not with ink but the spirit of the living God. Not on tables of stone but on the fleshly tables of the heart are we the epistles of Christ. So let’s not say in our heart let’s bring Christ down from above, or bring him up from the deep. But what shall we say, His Word, Christ is nigh unto us. In our hearts and in our mouths. That is the word of faith in which we preach. For God has said, He will put His Laws in our hearts and in our minds write them. For He has given us of His Spirit, Love. And as He is so are we in this world. And on this hang, depend all the law and prophets. And that my friend would include the Sabbath.

    Please follow along
The righteousness of God is the righteousness of Faith. And that is not of ourselves it is a gift from God.

So say not in your heart who will bring Christ down from above or up from the depths. For the WORD is nigh thee in thy heart and in thy mouth. THAT IS the WORD of Faith in which we preach. That the Word through Christ is in the heart which results in true faith. For God has said He will put His Laws, His word through Christ in our heart and in our minds. For Christ is the end of the Law written on tables of stone parchment for righteousness for all whom believe because now we have faith from our new hearts which have His Word, His Law which includes the Seventh Day Sabbath written in our hearts and minds.

Romans 10:4 For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to every one that believeth.
Romans 10:6 But the righteousness which is of faith speaketh on this wise, Say not in thine heart, Who shall ascend into heaven? (that is, to bring Christ down from above)
Romans 10:7 Or, Who shall descend into the deep? (that is, to bring up Christ again from the dead.)
    Romans 10:8 But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach;

support a teaching of lawlessness (without law). If you read the scriptures this teaching is the very opposite of what Gods' Word says. If there was no law we would have no knowledge of what sin is when those laws are broken. If we do not have any knowledge of what sin is then we have no need of a Savior from sin and if we have no Savior from our sins we have no salvation because we are still lost in our sins without God's forgiveness. This is what Jesus was trying to teach us in Matthew 9:12-13, Paul in Galatians 3:22-25 and Jesus again in Matthew 5:17.

    God bless.

Is following Jesus new command to love others as He loves us lawlessness? If so, then yes, I am guilty of being lawless. I would so much rather be lawless and follow the teaching of my Savior than to have Paul call me foolish like he did the Galatians for listening to those who would put me under the laws of the defunct old covenant. If Paul were here today I wonder what he would call those who are trying to do the same thing as what was done to the Galatians?

LOVE IS EXPRESSED THROUGH OBEDIENCE TO GOD'S LAW. LOVE IS NOT EXPRESSED IN BREAKING GOD'S THAT WOULD BE SIN WHICH IS THE TRANSGRESSION OF GOD'S LAW.

I do not believe God's Word teaches the false teachings of lawlessness (without law) as shown in the scriptures and the posts already shared with here and elsewhere

Let me ask you some helpful questions .....

    If we LOVE God...

    * Will we have other Gods?
    * Will we make idols and worship them?
    * Will we take his name [follow] him in vain?
    * Will we remember his seventh day Sabbath and keep it holy?

    If we LOVE our neighbour...

    * Will we honor our parents?
    * Will we murder?
    * Will we commit adultery with our neighbor's spouse?
    * Will we steal from them?
    * Will we lie to them?
    * Will we covet what they own?

Now if your answer is no then you agree with me. If your answer is yes what kind of love are you talking about where breaking any of Gods' 10 commandments is loving God or loving our fellow man? Yet the above is only what Jesus is telling us in Matthew 22:36-40; Paul in Romans 13:8-10; James in James 2:8-12 and John in 1 John 5:2-3 (see also 1 John 3:6-9; Romans 3:31; Romans 8:4; Romans 6:1-23 and 1 John 2:3-4).

    ..............

According to the scriptures, love is not separate from our actions. According to the scriptures we are saved by grace through faith and not of ourselves it is a gift of God and not of works lest any man should boast *Ephesians 2:8-9 but Gods grace is so we can be obedient to the faith *Romans 1:5. Obedience to God's Law is not how we are saved it is the FRUIT of faith of one that is already been given Gods promise of salvation and the fruit of God's work in us *Philippians 2:13 as we believe and follow his word *John 10:26-27. If our faith has no fruit it is dead *James 2:18-20; 26 and our tree will be cast down and thrown into the fire *Matthew 3:10; 7:19-20; 13:49-50; Hebrews 10:26-27. Therefore we do not abolish God's law through faith like some people teach but God's law is established in the heart by faith that works by love *Romans 3:31; 1 John 5:3-4; Romans 13:8-10. According to the scriptures, sin (breaking God' commandments and not believing and following God's Word) is the difference between the children of God and the children of the devil *1 John 3:6-10; 1 John 2:3-4; Revelation 12:17; Revelation 14:12; Revelation 22:14.

Your may also want to consider that Jesus saves us from the inside out linked which is why we need to be born again *John 3:3-7; 1 John 3:4 into God's new covenant promise through faith to receive a new heart to love and walk in His Spirit *Hebrews 8:10-12; from Jeremiah 31:31-34; Ezekiel 36:24-27; Romans 3:31; 1 John 5:2-4; Galatians 5:16.

We won't do all the things you listed if we believe Jesus is our Savior and do what He asks, love others as He loves us. As far as remembering the Sabbath is concerned God only asked the people of one nation to do that. Why do you insist He placed that on us? Love is not about keep ritual days. The now defunct Sabbath God gave to Israel was defiantly a ritual. Believers in the new covenant Jesus gave to all mankind doesn't require but one or two rituals, partaking of communion and marriage. You cannot show me from scripture anything about being required to keep any day. Since you are not able the case is closed. Do what you like, but please do not spread falsehood.

Then there is no excuse if we love God to "Remember the Sabbath day to keep it holy" -Exodus 20:8-11 as it is one of Gods' 10 commandments that teach us our duty of love to God which is the first great commandment that Jesus talks about in Matthew 22:36-40. The name "Israel" according to the scriptures is only a name given by God to all those who believe and follow what Gods' Word says. If we are not a part of Gods' Israel then we have no part in Gods' new covenant promise *Hebrews 8:10-12 from Jeremiah 31:31-34 and Ezekiel 36:24-27. Gods' Israel therefore are no longer only those who are born in the flesh of the seed of Abraham that believe Gods' Word but under the new covenant are now all those who have been born again in the Spirit to believe and follow what God's Word says (see John 3:3-7; 1 John 3:6-9; Romans 9:6-8; Galatians 3:28-29; Romans 2:28-29. If we love God we will obey what God's Word says from the heart which is what John says in 1 John 5:2-3 when he defines love as being obedient to what God's Word says; [2], By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God, and keep his commandments. [3], For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous. Hebrews 4:9 Therefore it remains for the people of God to keep the Sabbath. Which is why Jesus says love is demonstrated through obedience to his commandments (John 14:15: John 15:10; Matthew 33:36-40 which also agrees with Paul in Romans 13:8-10; John in 1 John 5:2-3 and James in James 2:8-12. Sorry Bob, it seems God's Word disagrees with your words that are not Gods' here.

    Take Care.
