my preteen (who seems like a teen now) said this morn I'm overprotective

she's on antibiotic now which is surprisingly first time ever
below freezing today & sent note to keep in for recess

am I being overprotective asking her to stay in for recess?

Is she acting sick? If not, then there is no reason she shouldn't be able to go outside and play. I'd probably send a note that says to allow her to skip going outside at recess if she doesn't feel up to it. If she is sicker than that, she probably shouldn't be at school. (And if she has something contagious, I hope you kept her home for the length of time the doctor said it would take for the antibiotic to make her no longer contagious.)

Probably not.
Surprised if the doctor did not warn to stay inside/ to stay warm,
but it's a good idea with just the info in the op.

thanks all!
finished antibiotic & well

staying inside for recess few times worked out well as she got to sit in cafeteria & talk to friends from another class

turns out she was afraid she'd get stuck sitting in principal's office which is why she called me overprotective/didn't want to sit out recess
