Staff have decided to add the word "p*ssy" to the profanity filter. This means you can't post the word itself or bypass the filter using punctuation, as I just did.

By now, we all know what Trump said. We don't need this word continually plastered all over CF. From this point forward, any use of this word, even in a quoted article, will be treated as any other profanity violation.

If you want to discuss the story itself, you can just say "what Trump said about women" or something similar without actually quoting him.

Here is the profanity rule as a reminder:

    Vulgarity and Profanity
Please do not post, or link to, violent, disturbing, graphic, or sexually explicit images or text. Profanity or foul language is not allowed. This includes using punctuation or acronyms to bypass the profanity filter and a few non-censored words found here.

Could "cat" be used in its place?

It was already considered vulgar, but I guess it slipped the filter. That's been fixed since this whole thing came out in the news.

This flies in the face of one of the founding principles of the Internet - kitty pictures. For shame.

Yes, we all know what he said and it's a shame that we will be forced to try to forget it.

An effective way to shut down discussion.

Profanity and vulgarity have never been allowed on CF, even in news stories. All links must conform to CF's rules.

If that shuts down discussion on one issue, then that's the way it is. This is a family-friendly forum.

The way this week's been going, are we still allowed to use the word "Trump"?

If we are clever enough to come up with such arguments and statements, we possibly are creative enough to not be shut down :)

It has become impossible to discuss the Presidential campaign in front of our children. Truly sad.

If you have to substitute cat for the word that is a slur describing women's vaginas you'd probably do better at a non-religious forum.

I'd think the P word was already in the profanity filter. :(

The story can still be discussed, it's just the specific word that cannot be used. Allusions to the word can still be said:

Well, it depends on how we define children. I know that both of my mother's children and all NINE of her parents' grandchildren are adults, and the great-grandchildren are just coming up on three months and 19 months so neither of them would understand anyway.
