or airfryer if Phillips.

Tasted some tater tots and they were delicious - not something we usually eat. Friend said her favorites were "fried" chicken or fish but didn't look at her unit. So started looking online at the various models. There's many positive comments in the reviews; however, some models seem to flake/chip. Some said maybe it occurred just in the cheaper models. But at this point, every brand researched has a few comments about it. Can it be avoided? Some folks wash the parts by hand versus dishwasher cleaning. Seems to me that the high heat while cooking would be the cause. Some say don't worry - flaked off materials can be safety consumed which I don't find reassuring. One suggestion is to look at models that utilize stainless steel racks or containers. Thoughts?

Even if the model says "dishwasher safe" I would always only handwash them using a soft cloth. I think the occasional fleck here and there wouldn't be too worrisome but if it's coming off in chunks, I'd get rid of it.
