Advice on Getting a Copyright

I have a 200+ page manuscript in book form, but I am unsure how/where to apply for a copyright. I know it can be cheap or very expensive, so does anyone here know how to proceed?

using google I found Forms | U.S. Copyright Office
Log on to the relevent deprtment and follow the instructions.

Otherwise print out a cope date it, wrap in a copy of todays paper, ensuring the date is showing, pack it up and post it to your self.
Should you have to go to court to defend your book, the court can open the still sealed package, discover the newspaper with its date and your orgininal document.

Far easier to go through the web site.

Actually, it is ALREADY protected by copyright. That happens as soon as you produce your work, whether it is a book, a song, a recording, etc. (assuming you are in the USA)

But to be able to successfully prove that copyright, register on the website.
