Lets talk about something a group of Franciscans yes Franciscans have said.
"We have come to preach faith in Jesus Christ to you, so that you will renounce Mohammed, that wicked slave of the devil, and obtain everlasting life like us." is the message that they(5 Franciscans) brought the Sultan and were killed for it. That language is seen as hate today unfortunately but prior to recently this has always been seen as an act of filial love. In fact its a spiritual work of mercy. Did we forget this?
What would pope Francis say about the fact that St. Francis(whom he takes the name from) also went to a Muslim Sultan during the crusades to evangelize and save his soul and preach the truth of the Catholic faith?
