The conservative approach is to ignore the mother's needs. The fetus does not outweigh the mother's needs, period.
Well, it of course isn't. The mother doesn't ever need to kill another innocent person. We should offer all the emotional support in the world to rape victims. But one thing we shouldn't do is offer to kill the other victim.

You got it backwards! The conservative approach would be to protect the innocent unborn human from being killed!

You've got two victims when pregnancy occurs from rape: The pregnant woman, and the unwanted, unborn child. The wrong thing to do is kill one of the victims.

No, the wrong thing to do is to force a rape victim to carry the fetus to term against her will.

You are, of course, entitled to your opinion.

Rather than keeping this going, we simply have to agree to disagree.

Question for all of the pro-life women here: If you were raped at age 15, how would you feel when people said nine months of your life don't matter and you can just adopt out the baby after 40 weeks? You are in ninth grade, can't drive or get a job, and suffer PTSD in this scenario. Imagine being that 15-year old girl.

You misuse the word 'need.' An abortion is not killing an innocent person. To suggest so is a falsehood.

We need offer women the full range of options given by the law, and dismiss the partisanship by the far right and the far left.

SPF used the word need correctly. Embryos and fetuses are as human as infants, toddlers, and children. I understand not wanting to call embryos people, but they are still human beings and fetuses are definitely people.

The problem with offering girls and women a full range of options is they have no options to be given. We need to create new options and improve old ones in all 50 states.

This is the problem with thinking unborn babies are just as valuable since fertilization as everyone else: If that is true, why are do so many pregnancies end in miscarriages? If God values every human being, why does He let some of them die naturally before they have a chance to breathe fresh air? I know God, as our Creator, values all humans after they are born. Nobody can deny that.

couple thoughts. First, we all die naturally, 100% of us. Second, God doesn’t owe us any amount of time to live. Look at what Job went through, did that seem fair?

Finally though, I would say it happens because sin has entered the world and not much right now is as it should be.
