A Winter's Night Dream
As the darkness embraced the land
Weary eyes long for a night's sleep.
Drifting into fantasy,
Tiny crystals
Lures them to the deep.
Now blinded by the white
Left a chilling fear of death.
Feeling lost and alone
Doubting visions with each breath.
Stiff and numb each joint and limb
Cries out for help, cries out for heat.
Must find a way to escape
This terror with each heartbeat.
Trying to move and gasping for breath
Unable to make a scream,
Now flees the white
To embrace the dark,
Wondering if it's real or a dream.
