Thank you @By_the_Book. I would consider myself a new Christian - not in years, but in practice. Without having to check for Bible verses relating to this topic the first thought that comes to mind is: to know that you are protected from all evil. The hand of God, I feel, is a protective force.
And now, I must check the Scripture to see what it says...

Just a thought / question to ponder and comment on.
To know that you are in the hand of God, is to know that...
That no one can snatch you from His hand.
John 10:
27
My sheep hear My voice, and I know them,
and they follow Me.
28 And I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; neither shall anyone snatch them out of My hand.
29 My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all; and no one is able to snatch them out of My Father’s hand.

God's protection definitely comes from being in His hand.

The security of our salvation is without a doubt a benefit of being in God's hands.
