I have many beliefs about many things. Your lack of being specific leads me to believe you think I must be a mind reader as to what you meant by that. Beliefs on what?
My belief of what? On the atonement? On soteriology? On premillennialism? Limited, or universal atonement? Angelology? Pneumatology? Christology? Hamartiology? Eschatology? Ecclesiology? Anthropology?
I probably still have a lot to learn. Me flawless? hardly. The more I learn something that I had no idea existed the more I realize never to be too sure of myself. But, when I do look in the mirror, I am sure I am not seeing another person.
When I see other Christians rejecting and neglecting sound teachings? I am sure that as flawed as I may be? I am still way ahead in understanding what they could also understand. But, not flawed? hardly.

Though what has become of Christianity in many cases has been saturated by a form of religion. I am non religious. Having grew up a Jew I was from the beginning exposed to religion. Religion in any form, to me, had always been seen intuitively as someone having a feeble right lobe.

Why do to take such offence at unbelievers pointing out the flaws in your beliefs, such as your lack of evidentiary support for them?

History books would paint a different picture.Religion in general promotes good moral standards that is conducive to the well being of a healthy society. That much I will grant religion.

Yet, it too promotes good moral behavior, so it should fall under the same reason why the government will benefit with Christianity under its umbrella of tax exemption.

Having no indoctrination. Not knowing about any baptism requirement. Nothing about communion... and not knowing one can actually pray to God.
It was simply accepting what I was told about the Cross of Jesus Christ and after having my entire life turned upside down in a mysterious, supernatural way that you could not even explain to yourself. I did NOT know I had become a Christian! I could not figure out what had gotten hold of me. At one point I assumed I must have discovered I had psychic ability, for dreams of mine were frighteningly coming true.
That is what happened to this Jew after he stopped denying the fact that Jesus was once on a cross dying for mankind's sins. I knew damn well I was sinner at that point of my life, and with no way out except possibly religion... which I found offensive and empty. Or, psychiatry. Which ended up in just as many sects as Christian denominations did.
In my very limited understanding (no indoctrination from childhood) I simply believed Jesus was a good man. A good man who loved God, so much, that he refused to sin. That he died for us who do sin, so that men could know the love of God as he did.
That was all I did! I still continued to have a disdain for the emptiness of religion. But, I was no longer the same person. It was as if I had new eyes and new senses. The supernatural became pertinent to me. Never before had it seemed like a reality. I still did not know I had become a Christian. I did not even know if God was real, but knew that what had happened to me was very real.
Are you really that closed minded and self righteous? Or, do you only act that way? You sound just like a closed minded fundy.
