John 10:34 Jesus answered them, `Is it not having been written in your law: I said, ye are gods? (elohim - judges; we can know good from evil)

To the extent that it is true, certainly around here is appears to be true, the recent election was between supporting Trump and opposing Trump, I'm sure there are Biden supporters, but many are far more opposed to Trump than for Biden, Joe is somewhat ambiguous on some things,

SO Take the initiative - tell him what we want, and lets try to get the never-Trumpers or not-too-keen-on-Trump on our side as well.

Instead of arguing about what we don't want lets talk about what we do want, and remember - we are judges, be examples, take the leed.

Top thing to fix is the understanding of Socialism.

Socialism is an endangered species in the Democratic Party and possibly extinct in the Republican Party.

The really weird thing is in the 1950s and 60s the US was Democratic Socialist in policy yet many people were taken in by the advertising against socialism, living right in it, enjoying it and thinking it was bad at the same time.

I'd forget teaching medieval history if we aren't going to teach recent history.

That's what it was like back then, we saw a tiny bit of that with Donald Trump when he spoke of jobs being moved out of the country, and told Ford (?) that if they moved another car plant to Mexico then he would slap on an import tax. That probably didn't work as the decision was based on lack of market demand.

But to those of us in the working class even being mentioned in politics is a compliment. Being called 'a basket of deplorable s' didn't have the same effect.

He didn't manage to stop an air conditioner plant being moved and if I recall also a Caterpillar Diesel engine plant, to Mexico. The route to Mexico was made by W Clinton when he signed the NAFTA agreement.

The even stranger thing is those who lived through the 1950s and 60s are the ones most opposed to the word 'socialism'

And we get told the Universities are full of socialists. Yet Prof Richard Wolff complains of being lonely because he can't find any socialists.

It's due to US politics being such a rats nest of meaning. There are lots of 'liberals', but to say a liberal is a socialist is like saying a water sprinkler is a hot tub.

Well, nobody has any ideas of what they want to do, so here's another thread down the toilet.

Biden can win me over with the following 3 simple asks:

1. Keep Trump's tax cuts
2. Drop gun control policies that hurt law-abiding citizens from agenda
3. Abolition of abortion (National heartbeat bill)

But obviously, Biden is for higher taxes, more gun control, and wants to make Roe v. Wade "the law of the land."

I'll pick 3:

1. Universal Basic Income / Universal Basic Dividend, It's been on the agenda since Tom Paine raised it in 1775, it got there because it was a problem in Britain and in Europe ever since the various enclosures acts centuries earlier, but it wasn't actually necessary in the US until about the year 2000.

Since then politicians have been looking busy with umpteen different initiatives, none of which actually worked but they could claim to have been so busy doing this and that while actually keeping their lobbyists happy with getting money implementing the pointless initiatives.

The implementation of UBI/UBD I see as being a right to work, basically. Any person or group who put together a business plan can present it and get funding through that, or an individual can join an existing group that has room, and make colorful T shirts or restore a steam engine or boat or something.

I tried to join one of those when I was in England and although I was perfectly qualified in every other way I was rejected because the scheme was only open to women and racial minorities.

Over here the pointless 'initiatives' have been to sign off long term unemployed as disabled, or hire people to go into huge government offices and waste away there. I've been on the phone to some of those places and half the people in there don't know anything about what they are doing. But they do get checked regularly and over 99% get official ratings of 'exceeding', makes me wonder if a jelly fish would come below average.

2. no new wars (read my lips) need an actual reason to start a war, not just the usual crap.
3. become green
4. stop lying

ironic, I said 3 points and the fourth one is 'stop lying'.
