I wonder how many people in Africa don't have proper roofs to sleep under. Sigh.

Good point. They should take all that money they give out in research grants and funding to Evolutionary scientists and use it to do something worthwhile with, like feed, clothe and put a roof over the head of every man, woman and child in the world in need.

Much "evolutionary" science does help people in need. That is the source of effective anti-retroviral drugs to combat AIDS.

The scientists have done their part. Now we need the politicians to make the arrangements to get the medication to those who need it instead of prioritizing the protection of patents so the pharmaceutical companies get rich while people in Africa continue to die.

Companies in Asia say they can produce the same medication for $150 that are selling under patent for $1500. But they don't dare for fear of trade sanctions from the US.

It is not scientists who prevent help for people in need. It is policies that spend trillions of dollars on military action but won't cough up enough funds to make the Global Fund to fight AIDS, malaria and tuberculosis viable and won't provide sufficient income to achieve the Millennial Development Goals. Less than 3% of the world's military budget would "feed, clothe and put a roof over the head of every man, woman and child in the world in need."

Since over 50% of the world's military budget is American, the US could easily meet this goal with unilateral action and hardly notice the difference in its budget.

You might like to point this out to President Bush and his advisors.

And what about the Creation Museum? ... the only science it's going to be good for is sociology: the study of how pseudo-scientific ideas penetrate the public consciousness.

The Creation museum will be beneficial for when that house of cards called ToE falls flat, leaving the masses without a clue as to where they came from.
