A Light Shines

Among the burning shadows
Shades of blackest night
Within the noise of bitter pain
A hope rises up
One who forces the darkness back
Holds all power in his hand
Say to the earth tremble
And mountains quake
Who can stand in this light
Shining brighter than any start
Seen from a land so far
Can mind conceive
Can heart believe
Can this light even be
He stood upon the mountains
He walked upon the sea
His life, His blood, He still gave
When He died upon a tree
All the power beyond understanding
Is found in a single person
Yet He is three
Father, Son, and Spirit
They ask how could it be
That God died for me
Shed a tear, for a drop of blood
He gave it all, that I might live
Ask how I couldn’t choose Him.
