I wasn't explaining away miracles in the sky. I wasn't giving the scientific reason for a natural occurrence. Here, read one of the mainstream sites. I'm sure that you will try and explain NASA away with that lame excuse.
NASA - Total Lunar Eclipse
I certainly do believe that God "can" speak to us through signs in nature but I don't believe that every natural occurrence is a sign. Especially when there isn't anything from scripture which backs it up. A lunar eclipse meant more to the Jews than solar eclipses because the calendar was based on the moon. The important part was that they had to be visible from Jerusalem.
A lunar eclipse which was only visible in another part of the world meant nothing to them.
As far as a red moon, or "blood" scripture says that the sun must be turned into darkness and the moon into blood before the Lord returns, so when you see a total eclipse of the sun and a total eclipse of the moon on the same day which effects Jerusalem,
then you will impress me.
They are not trying to provide a scientific reason, they gave scientific fact as to why the moon appears to be red as the eclipse is waning.
