LOL!
He was PERSISTENT. Just like the widow before the king, and Hannah, etc. He and they knew HE was ALL they had. Their persistent desperation was a prayer in itself, a "pleading" of the utmost intensity. Same with Jabez. Because he knew WHO to go to with his pain and/or urgency.
