Hello folks. September 11 is just around the corner, or had already passed, depending on the time you are reading this. Please take a moment to remember the victims, first responders, and families impacted by this tragic event. Pray for these victims.

I was in grade school when 9/11 happened.
For myself, I was 23 months old at that time, so I did not remember it, but remember the aftermath, of the wars, and then tight airport security (no shoes rule). Now, that rule has been relaxed a bit in certain airports.

I was in high school. I saw the second plane hit the tower. TBH, I still get a sense of fear sometimes when I hear a passenger plane going overhead. It was somewhat traumatic.

Dang, that must be some rough PTSD every time you hear a plane fly overhead. Luckily, airport security and the TSA would prevent any event such as 9/11 from ever happening again.

I would not call it PTSD. Mildly traumatic, but not to the level of a diagnosis.

Mild trauma is still trauma though. I do recommend that if possible, find someone who specializes in trauma, so that he/she could help you. You live in the Twin Cities, and planes fly overhead to MSP airport all the time. (I used to live 40 miles from the Twin Cities).

I was in Kindergarten.

I remember the months afterwards.

For some weird reason, I remember September 11th 2002, very vividly. I was in first grade.

I remember wearing red, white and blue that day, saying the pledge of allegiance, asking my teacher why the lady said have a nice day, and having Mass that night. It was a Wednesday.

Odd.

Must have been a dark time. Also, strange to remember September 11, 2002. Also, having mass on a weekday must have not been good. Going to church in the middle of the week is odd also, but it is good that you guys went to church that day.

It was part of catechism on Wednesday evenings.

I got out of the shower and saw the second plane hit the tower. I got to work and saw the towers collapse on the lobby TV. I was in the defense industry at the time, and it sent us scrambling.
That must have been a scary moment to witness at work. What type of defense did you do at that time? Did you work for a jet manufacturer? Northrop-Grumman is one of the biggest defense contractors.

@tonychanyt , as you are Canadian, did you remember what you did on 9/11?
I was working in Japan when I saw it on TV. I was thankful that my wife and kids were living in peaceful Japan then. One of my friends, a fireman in Ontario, immediately organized with his buddies to head south to help.

God bless your firefighter friend for saving people or helping out NYC during 9/11. It is good that you and your family was in Japan at the time. Which city in Japan were you in?

Aizu-Wakamatsu, a most beautiful and peaceful city, 300 km north of Tokyo. I taught computer science there. Got two dental bridges from there. They are still working nicely in my mouth. Japanese are extremely good at exact detailed work. An average dentist in a small town in Japan is probably more skillful than 90% of the dentists in the big city of Toronto :)

I saw the second plane hit the towers while I was getting ready for work and called my folks. I saw them fall at work on a TV they set up for everyone to keep track of it (and to keep the streaming of the news down).

It was a shocking day, and the aftermath was crazy. I knew we were going to go after some country.

What I wasn't expecting was the deniers that came up right after.
