In about a minute Muslims will post links saying the opposite. Just watch.

No truth in these kinds of numbers.
We may not ever really know what the true statistical numbers are, but for certain Islamic countries keep their people in the dark.

Islam can not compete against Christianity, and so that is why they suppress Christianity.

How many people are converting to Islam in the same period?

Impossible to verify any of this stuff. Why? It's how they work the numbers. eg. If a person was "born into" a religion, but then becomes an adherent to another, some religions chalk that up as a "convert". eg. Protestant Churches are filled with "ex-Catholics", many of whom were never adherents to Catholicism and wouldn't know dulia from latria, but merely found Christ in a Protestant context so identify as Protestants. Vice-versa as well.

YTube and other atrocious websites are full of videos of people that converted to Islam from "Christianity". Of course, quite often they were never actually Christians, just came from a family that was nominally Christian perhaps decades ago.

I'm sure the same can be said of people converting to any religion.

What's more, religious "growth" figures often work the same. You've heard ad nauseam about such-and-such a religion being the "fastest growing" in the world. Often that just means that they're busy making babies, putting those children through the prescribed initiation rituals and notching that up as religious growth.

You just can't trust the spin doctors.

I largely agree. However what's good for people converting to Islam is good for people converting from Islam.

My personal favorite is when someone tells me some rabbi converted to Islam/Christianity as if that's some kind of convincing argument.

Right- it's not a good argument. But for the convert themself, obviously other arguments were enough. Re-presenting those arguments I think is valid.

In these cases I have never had arguments presented only questions like "what, are you smarter than him?"

People convert from one religion to another all the time. So it can work both ways.

But it is significant when an entire nation (largely) converts from polytheism to monotheism in a couple of decades or so, as happened in the lifetime of the Prophet Muhammad s.a.

This is what is termed as raising the dead to life. It is quite a miracle.

Peace.

There is so much dishonesty that we can never be certain. Islamic Deception Al-Takeyya Al-Taqiyya | Christian Forum

The article is dishonest in many ways. The Qur'an strongly urges truth and honesty in numerous verses, and condemns falsehood in numerous verses.

Taqiyya is a shi'a concept, which the Shi'a appeared to have developed supposedly to save themselves from discrimination in a sunni society, and persecution by the authorities.

Besides, Peter was the first person (afaik) recorded in religious history to have done what the shi'as would term taqiyya when he denied and cursed Christ three times.

As for the meaning of the word Islam, no doubt (as stated in the article itself) peace or salaam is related to Islam, which signifies the attainment of inner and outer peace by submitting to God's will rather than rebelling against it.

As for the verse [3:54], some non-Muslims mistranslate the verse for polemical purposes. Muslim translators use the word plan for makr, not deceive. So Allah is the best of planners.

Peace.

If that's true, that's their loss. I pray Allaah guides them back to Islaam for the sake of their Hereafter.

Whoever is guided is only guided for [the benefit of] his soul. And whoever errs only errs against it. And no bearer of burdens will bear the burden of another. And never would We punish until We sent a messenger. (Al-Isra 17:15)

Regarding conversions, Islaam took the world by storm from the moment Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) was sent. It spread across much of the world like wildfire and is still attracting people to it.

For instance, Palestine used to be majority-Christian until the Muslims conquered it. The people didn't convert to it right away, but the majority of the indigenous population was Muslim within 100 years.
