That's not what was promised.
What was promised to Daniel's people the Jews and Israel was....

Seventy weeks are determined upon thy people and upon thy holy city, to finish the transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up the vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most Holy.

Israel and the world is not living in that state of existence. Everlasting righteousness will be brought when when the 490 years are complete at Jesus's return. Therefore, there has to be a gap in the 490 year prophecy.

in Jesus, we also have eternal life.

jgr, the point I am making is that there must be a gap in the 490 years prophecy because eternal righteousness is now the condition of the world because Jesus has not returned yet. And the 7 year 70th week preceeds and ends with Jesus's return.

We do, Douggg, and our eternal everlasting life is made possible by His everlasting righteousness.

Granted to all who believe on Him.

Irrespective of the condition of the world.

No waiting necessary.

No gap involved.

Daniel 9:24 Seventy weeks are determined upon thy people and upon thy holy city, to finish the transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up the vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most Holy.

I upgraded my chart to show everlasting righteousness brought in. Not the condition of the world at present. Therefore, there has to be a gap in the 400 year prophecy.

Nope. Nothing to do with the condition of the world. Everything to do with an individual's condition before God.

You still haven't answered my earlier question.

Is the righteousness of which Paul wrote, everlasting righteousness?

I answered the question in Christ Jesus.

The 490 years are determined on Daniel's people the Jews, Israel, and Jerusalem - who have yet to believe in Jesus and the gospel of salvation.

More than 10%.

And that's just Americans today.

Not including the rest of the world.

Not including all of history since Calvary.

Lots of 'em.
But the majority of Jews, Jerusalem, Israel, don't believe in Jesus and the gospel of salvation. Just today in the news "Israel orders US based Christian TV channel off the air".

It never will be a majority, either of Jews, or of all of humanity.

Matthew 7
13 Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat:
14 Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.

Across the broad span of history. And that particular generation. But most Jews, Israel, Jerusalem, in the parable of the fig tree generation in the middle of the 7 years will be saved.

Jesus made no exceptions.
