I'm glad you asked. I'm not for making sins illegal just because they are sins. We would have to outlaw, gossip, gluttony, lying, sex before marriage etc. As Paul told us we should not judge those outside the church for they are judged already by God. So I think we need to balance the ideas of laws vs laws against sin. Abortion is a great example. The bible calls murder sin. But we as a society haven't based out law decision simply because murder is a sin. There is a legitimate secular reason outlawing murder. In our minds as believers abortion is murder. But I also believe there are legitimate secular reasons to outlaw abortion. There are a LOT of pro-life people that are not Christians. And their thoughts are not based upon the Bible but in scientific and philosophical reasoning why abortion snuff's out a life. We can't legislate people into righteous living. Now am I against homosexuality being presented in school education? Yes I am and I have reasons beside sin for opposing it. Am I for bakers being able to turn down a homosexual couple for a marriage cake? Yes I am. And I have secular reasons for doing so. I hope I am making myself clear enough. Neither Christ not Paul advocated for the writing of secular law to forbid sin.
