I don’t understand your point.

I'm glad you asked. I'm not for making sins illegal just because they are sins. We would have to outlaw, gossip, gluttony, lying, sex before marriage etc.

As Paul told us we should not judge those outside the church for they are judged already by God.

So I think we need to balance the ideas of laws vs laws against sin. Abortion is a great example.

The bible calls murder sin. But we as a society haven't based out law decision simply because murder is a sin. There is a legitimate secular reason outlawing murder. In our minds as believers abortion is murder. But I also believe there are legitimate secular reasons to outlaw abortion. There are a LOT of pro-life people that are not Christians. And their thoughts are not based upon the Bible but in scientific and philosophical reasoning why abortion snuff's out a life.

We can't legislate people into righteous living.

Now am I against homosexuality being presented in school education? Yes I am and I have reasons beside sin for opposing it. Am I for bakers being able to turn down a homosexual couple for a marriage cake? Yes I am. And I have secular reasons for doing so.

I hope I am making myself clear enough.

Neither Christ not Paul advocated for the writing of secular law to forbid sin.

Is it sad that Jews don't recognize the New Testament?
Yes.:( It is sad that they did not receive their long awaited Messiah when He came. The prophets had told them. The New Testament is all about Him.See Isa.53.

No because I'm not a jerk, or inconsiderate. You think they haven't ehard about it being a sin in the US? All your doing is drivingthem to suicide and self loathing.

So your way of helping people is driving them to suicide? Good to know.

They are driven to self loathing because they are at war within themselves. Homosexuality is pretty much accepted everywhere now except in Muslim countries for the most part. It's an inner ear with themselves because they are going against biology and they know something isn't right. That makes them miserable. That creates mental health depression problems. I know the claim that it's because people still dont accept them. But when you look at places like San Francisco they are still unhappy and commit suicide.

It's very difficult for a person to be that dichotomous in themselves. I can't imagine that battle.

They are driven to self loathing because they are at war within themselves.

That's not the only reason, is it?

Homosexuality is pretty much accepted everywhere now except in Muslim countries for the most part.

Homosexuality isn't a capital crime... That's not quite the same thing as being "pretty much accepted."

It's an inner ear with themselves because they are going against biology and they know something isn't right.

Two questions:

1. Is biology the only thing that defines us?
2. If their homosexuality is against their biology, then where does it come from?

That makes them miserable. That creates mental health depression problems.

Sounds like you're saying its the only thing...

I know the claim that it's because people still dont accept them. But when you look at places like San Francisco they are still unhappy and commit suicide.

Actually, I found out that the San Francisco suicide rate is below the national average.

It's very difficult for a person to be that dichotomous in themselves.

It's difficult for all people -- our "identity" exists precisely as a means to reconcile the numerous contradictions that our biology, psychology, society, etc... place upon us.

I can't imagine that battle.

You seemed to be doing well so far.

Professing to be wise, they became fools, and exchanged the glory of the incorruptible God for an image in the form of corruptible man and of birds and four-footed animals and crawling creatures. Therefore God gave them over in the lusts of their hearts to impurity, so that their bodies would be dishonored among them. For they exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen. For this reason God gave them over to degrading passions; for their women exchanged the natural function for that which is unnatural, and in the same way also the men abandoned the natural function of the woman and burned in their desire toward one another, men with men committing indecent acts and receiving in their own persons the due penalty of their error. And just as they did not see fit to acknowledge God any longer, God gave them over to a depraved mind, to do those things which are not proper,

would they be the same reasons for a baker turning away an interracial couple?

Rights aren't handed down by people in black robes, they are decided by the masses and what they will accept.

When it comes to marriage rights and the institution of marriage this really shouldn't be an institution determined by the federal government. There is no law in the constitution governing marriage. It's was always left to the people.

In fact marriage licenses didn't really start until the southern states wanted to prevent interracial marriages so they started requiring licenses to be married. So the marriage license issued by the government actually came from a racist background.

It uses to be that marriage was recognized by the church or between families who agreed that a marriage would take place and the ceremony was done by someone recognized to be able to perform it.

I would argue that as long as states recognize marriage as a state right then it becomes a matter of equality. So people have equal rights if there is one. Gays should be allowed to be married under the equal right of the constitution. As long as it does not interfere with other rights granted by the constitution.

I would much rather do away with a State granting marriage rights to marriage just being recognized by two people who want to get married and having someone perform the ceremony and then they can be married.

This eliminates the entire question of people having to butt heads in regards to religious rights. If a church or organization does not wish to host the event they would not be required to as it is not a specific right recognized by the state. The state also would not be allowed to ban a marriage either. If gays wanted to marry they could. If interracial marriages took place the state would have no say.

But religious people and organizations would not have to be involved either if they do not want to be.

Anyone would not have to be involved if they did not want to be.

Because it would not be a right, but a contract between two people who agreed they would be married.

no it's hate and bigotry

Bull. Total bull. LGBT's aren't accepted by anything but a minority of people.
Adam Graham just resigned as mayor of his town because of the thousands of threats and property damage and harassment that began when his orientation became widespread knowledge. Death threats and harassment is not acceptance.
A third of LGBT youth have been assaulted or threatened with a weapon in school. That isn't acceptance.
LGBT kids are 4 times as likely to be physically abused by their parents.
Half of all homeless people under the age of 18 are LGBT. and having worked with the homeless i can state that they are on the streets largely because of violence from their parents.
LGBT people are 4 times as likely to be violently attacked.
REF. REF. REF. REF. REF. REF REF REF

This isn't acceptance

THIS isn't acceptance its just hate.

so why isn't polygamy legal in Utah?
Why is interracial marriage legal in the whole country?

It's not surprising that 47 Republicans voted alongside the Democrats to protect same sex marriage... The US is known as The Land of Liberty, for a reason.

Could be that, or perhaps it is being called "a blight on society" and saying their very existence "dehumanizes" others might be higher on the list of causes.
