At least 25 people have been killed across Jamaica in the first four days of 2018.

That’s according to the latest crimes statistics from the Jamaica Constabulary Force, JCF.

Among the bloodiest parishes so far are St. Andrew, Clarendon and St. Catherine. There are four parishes that haven’t recorded any deaths in 2018.

At least one Member of Parliament has publicly called for citizens to stand against the bloodletting that has continued into the New Year.

*** At every crime scene it is important to determine whether the perpetrators are professionals or not. For example, fatal wounds that thieves have inflicted on animals, whose meat are stolen at night, can help to determine whether the persons who killed the animals has experience working in a professional capacity such as being an animal butcher, a farmer, cook, vet etc by the way the animals have been cut and handled. This information can lead police to find the perpetrators.

When a person is killed specific wounds or even lack of wounds inflicted on certain areas of the body, may indicate the murderer has prior experience in a professional capacity. For example, recently a man was discovered with certain organs missing such as a hand, eyes, tongue etc This may indicate that the perpetrator of this crime is a surgeon or surgeons, or persons having medical experience.

It is also important to investigate to see whether there is a connection between one murder and other murders taking place in the general area, nearby parishes, and in much farer areas all across Jamaica. The same persons may be committing multiple crimes all over Jamaica. A connection can be determined by the type of crimes being committed, the weapons used, the areas where crimes are occurring, the similar ways that crimes are carried out.
