Corinthians epistle is written to believers in particular:

2 Cor 1: (B) to the church of God which is at Corinth, with all the saints which are in all Achaia:
(MY NOTE: King James translators capitalize words, in these verses (Spirit) in identifying deity)

2 Cor 1:22 Who hath also sealed us, and given the earnest of the Spirit in our hearts.
(MY NOTE: Every believer in Christ's sin atoning death & resurrection is, Sealed by & given the EARNEST of the Spirit in our heart. When God indwells the believer with His Holy Spirit/Earnest. God's Holy Spirit is a certified/guaranteed, deposit/down payment, of your complete sin vindication & coming eternal life promised. Which every believer will receive (a new incorruptible body) on the final day of redemption (Eph 4:30) at Christ's 2nd advent.)

2 Cor 5:5 Now he that hath wrought us for the selfsame thing is God, who also hath given unto us the earnest of the Spirit.
(MY NOTE: God's EARNEST = His indwelling Holy Spirit. It's God's down payment of Guaranteed redemption. A covenant keeping God's promise. NOT just good until your next sin, your redemption is a DONE deal! The believer is NOW redeemed/bought & paid for ( 1 Cor 7:23, Acts 20:28, Rev 5:9) thru faith in our Lord/God & Sin Savior, Jesus the Christ's sin redemptive works)

Ephesians epistle is written to believers in particular:

Eph 1:1 (B) to the saints which are at Ephesus, and to the faithful in Christ Jesus:

Eph 1:
13 In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,
(MY NOTE: You heard about Christ's sin atoning death & resurrection (1 Cor 15:1-4). You believed/confessed Jesus Lordship with your mouth & believed in your heart He was raised from the grave (Rom 10:9-10). And God Sealed you with His Spirit of promise (Jn 7:38-39) = His eternal indwelling Holy Spirit)

14 Which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory.
(MY NOTE: This EARNEST/God's Holy Spirit that indwells us: Is our covenant promise keeping God/Christ's, 1st installment, down payment, a guaranteed promised/pledge to the PURCHASED POSSESSION/done deal, of the believers eternal life inheritance. To Jesus be all praise, glory, honor & thanksgiving. AMEN & Amen!)

originally, "earnest-money" deposited by the purchaser and forfeited if the purchase was not completed, was probably a Phoenician word, introduced into Greece. In general usage it came to denote "a pledge" or "earnest" of any sort; in the NT it is used only of that which is assured by God to believers; it is said of the Holy Spirit as the Divine "pledge" of all their future blessedness, 2 Corinthians 1:22; 5:5; in Ephesians 1:14; 4:30 particularly of their eternal inheritance.

What the Bible says about Arrabon

2 Corinthians 1:21 - Now He who establishes us with you in Christ and has anointed us is God, 22 who also has sealed us and given us the Spirit in our hearts as a guarantee.

2 Corinthians 5:5 - Now it is God who has made us for this very purpose and has given us the Spirit as a deposit, guaranteeing what is to come.

Ephesians 1:13 - In Him you also trusted, after you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation; in whom also, having believed, you were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise, 14 who is the guarantee of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, to the praise of His glory.

Ephesians 4:30 - And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed unto/for the day of redemption.
