100 FACTS ABOUT THE SABBATH AND SUNDAY YOU MAY NOT KNOW.
  1. After working the first six days of the week in creating this earth, the great God rested on the seventh day. (Genesis 2:1.3.)
  2. This stamped that day as God's rest day, or Sabbath day, as Sabbath day means rest day. To illustrate: When a person is born on a certain day, that day thus becomes his birthday. So when God rested upon the seventh day, that day became His rest, or Sabbath, day.
  3. Therefore the seventh day must always be God's Sabbath day. Can you change your birthday from the day on which you were born to one on which you were not born? No. Neither can you change God's rest day to a day on which He did not rest. Hence the seventh day is still God's Sabbath day.
  4. The Creator blessed the seventh day. (Genesis 2:3.)
  5. He sanctified the seventh day. (Exodus 20:11.)
  6. He made it the Sabbath day in the Garden of Eden. (Genesis 2:1-3.)
  7. It was made before the fall; hence it is not a type; for types were not introduced till after the fall.
  8. Jesus says it was made for man (Mark 2:27), that is, for the race, as the word man is here unlimited; hence, for the Gentile as well as for the Jew.
  9. It is a memorial of creation. (Exodus 20:11; 31:17.) Every time we rest upon the seventh day, as God did at creation, we commemorate that grand event.
  10. It was given to Adam, the head of the human race. (Mark 2:27; Genesis 2:1-3.)
  11. Hence through him, as our representative, to all nations. (Acts 17:26.)
  12. It is' not a Jewish institution, for it was made 2,300 years before ever there was a Jew.
  13. The Bible never calls it the Jewish Sabbath, but always "the Sabbath of the Lord thy God." Men should be cautious how they stigmatize God's holy rest day.
  14. Evident reference is made to the Sabbath and the seven-day week all, through the patriarchal age. (Genesis 2:l-3; 8:10,12; 29:27,28.etc.)
  15. It was a part of God's law before Sinai. (Exodus 16:4, 27-29.)
  16. Then God placed it in the heart of His moral law. (Exodus 20:1-17.) Why did He place it there if it was not like the other nine precepts, which all admit to be immutable?
  17. The seventh-day Sabbath was commanded by the voice of the living God. (Deuteronomy 4:12,13.)
  18. Then He wrote the commandment with His own finger. (Exodus 31:18.)
  19. He engraved it in the enduring stone, indicating its imperishable nature. (Deuteronomy 5:22.)
  20. It was sacredly preserved in the ark in the holy of holies. (Deuteronomy 10:1-5.)
  21. God forbade work upon the Sabbath, even in the most hurrying times. (Exodus 34:21.)
  22. God destroyed the Israelites in the wilderness because they profaned the Sabbath. (Ezekiel 20:12, 13.)
  23. It is the sign of the true God, by which we are to know Him from false gods. (Ezekiel 20:20.)
  24. God promised that Jerusalem should stand forever if the Jews would keep the Sabbath (Jeremiah 17:24, 25.)
  25. He sent them into the Babylonish captivity for breaking it. (Nehemiah 13:18.)
  26. He destroyed Jerusalem for its violation. (Jeremiah 17:27.)
  27. God has pronounced a special blessing on all the Gentiles who will keep it. (Isaiah 56:6, 7.)
  28. This is in the prophecy, which refers wholly to the Christian dispensation. (See Isaiah 56.)
  29. God has promised to bless all who keep the Sabbath. (Isaiah 56:2.)
  30. The Lord requires us to call it "honourable". (Isaiah 58:13.) Beware, ye who take delight in calling it the. “old Jewish Sabbath,” “a yoke of bondage,” etc.
  31. After the holy Sabbath has been trodden down "many generations,” it is to be restored in the last days. (Isaiah 58:12,13.)
  32. All the holy prophets kept the seventh day.
  33. When the Son of God came, He kept the seventh day all His life. (Luke 4:16; John 15:10.) Thus He followed His Father's example at creation. Shall we not be safe in following the example of both the Father and the Son?
  34. The seventh day is the Lord's Day. (See Revelation 1:10; Mark 2:28; Isaiah 58:13; Exodus 20:10.)
  35. Jesus was Lord of the Sabbath (Mark 2:28), that is, to love and protect it, as the husband is the lord of the wife, to love and cherish her (1 Peter 3:6.)
  36. He vindicated the Sabbath as a merciful institution designed for man's good. (Mark 2:23-28.)
  37. Instead of abolishing the Sabbath, He carefully taught how it should be observed. (Matthew 12:1-13.)
  38. He taught His disciples that they should do nothing upon the Sabbath day but what was “lawful” (Matthew 12:12.)
  39. He instructed His apostles that the Sabbath should be prayerfully regarded forty years after His resurrection. (Matthew 24:20.)
  40. The pious women who had been with Jesus carefully kept the seventh day after His death. (Luke 23:56.)
  41. Thirty years after Christ's resurrection, the Holy Spirit' expressly calls it "the Sabbath day,"(Acts 13:14.)
  42. Paul, the apostle to the Gentiles, called it the "Sabbath day" in A.D. 45. (Acts 13:27.) Did not Paul know? Or shall we believe modern teachers, who affirm that it ceased to be the Sabbath at the resurrection of Christ?
  43. Luke, the inspired Christian historian, writing as late as A.D. 62, calls it the "Sabbath day." (Acts 13:44.)
  44. The Gentile converts called it the Sabbath. (Acts 13:42.)
  45. In the great Christian council, A.D. 49, in the presence of the apostles and thousands of disciples, James calls it the "sabbath day." (Acts 15:21)
  46. It was customary to hold prayer meetings upon that day. (Acts 16:13.)
  47. Paul read the Scriptures in public meetings on that day. (Acts 17:2, 3.)
  48. It was his custom to preach upon that day. (Acts 17:2,3.)
  49. The Book of Acts alone gives a record of his holding eighty-four meetings upon that day. (See Acts 13:14, 44; 16:13; 17:2; 18:4. 11.)
  50. There was never any dispute between the Christians and the Jews about the Sabbath day. This is proof that the Christians still observed the same day that the Jews did.
  51. In all their accusations against Paul, they never charged him with disregarding the Sabbath day. Why did they not, if he did not keep it?
  52. But Paul himself expressly declared that he had kept the law. “Neither against the law of the Jews, neither against the temple, nor yet against Caesar, have I offended any thing at all." Acts 25:8. How could this be true if he had not kept the Sabbath?
  53. The Sabbath is mentioned in the New Testament fifty-nine times, and always with respect, bearing the same title it had in the Old Testament, “the Sabbath day.”
  54. Not a word is said anywhere in the New Testament about the Sabbath's being abolished, done away, changed, or anything of the kind.
  55. God has never given permission to any man to work upon it. Reader, by what authority do you use - the seventh day for common labor?
  56. No Christian of the New Testament, either before or after the resurrection, ever did ordinary work upon the seventh day. Find one case of that kind, and we will yield the question. Why should modem Christians do differently from Bible Christians?
  57. There is no record that God has ever removed His blessing or sanctification from the seventh day.
  58. As the Sabbath was kept in Eden before the fall, so it will be observed eternally in the new earth after the restitution. (Isaiah 66:22, 23.)
  59. The seventh-day Sabbath was an important part of the law of God, as it came from His own mouth, and was written by His own finger upon stone at Sinai. (See Exodus 20.) When Jesus began His work, He expressly declared that He had not come to destroy the law. “Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets.” Matthew 5:17
  60. Jesus severely condemned the Pharisees as hypocrites for pretending to love God, while at the same tune they made void one of the Ten Commandments by their tradition. The keeping of Sunday is only a tradition of men.
40 Bible Facts Concerning the First Day of the Week
  1. The very first thing recorded In the Bible is work done on Sunday, the first day of the week. (Genesis l: l-5.) The Creator Himself did this. If God made the earth on Sunday, can it be wicked for us to work on Sunday?
  2. God commands men to work upon the first day of the week. (Exodus 20.8-11.) Is it wrong to obey God?
  3. None of the patriarchs ever kept it.
  4. None of the holy prophets ever kept it.
  5. By the express command of-God, His holy people used the first day of the week as a common working day for 4,000 years, at least.
  6. God Himself calls it a "working" day. (Ezekiel 46:1.)
  7. God did not rest upon it.
  8. He never blessed it.
  9. Christ did not rest upon it.
  10. Jesus was a carpenter (Mark 6:3), and worked at His trade until He was thirty years old. He kept the Sabbath and worked six days in the week, as all admit. Hence He did many a hard day’s work on Sunday.
  11. The apostles worked upon it during the same time.
  12. The apostles never rested upon it.
  13. Christ never blessed it.
  14. It has never been blessed by any divine authority.
  15. It has never been sanctified.
  16. No law was ever given to enforce the keeping of it, hence it is no transgression to work upon it. “Where no law is, there is no transgression.” Romans 4:15 (See also 1 John 3:4.)
  17. The New Testament nowhere forbids work to be done on it.
  18. No penalty is provided for its violation.
  19. No blessing is promised for its observance.
  20. No regulation is given as to how it ought to be observed. Would this be so if the Lord wished us to keep it?
  21. It is never called the Christian Sabbath.
  22. It is never called the Sabbath day at all.
  23. It is never called the Lord’s day.
  24. It is never called even a rest day.
  25. No sacred title whatever is applied to it. Then why should we call it holy?
  26. It is simply called “first day of the week.”
  27. Jesus never-mentioned it in any way, never took its name upon His lips, so far as the record shows.
  28. The word Sunday never occurs in the Bible at all.
  29. Neither God, Christ, nor inspired men ever said one word in favor of Sunday as a holy day.
  30. The first day of the week is mentioned only eight times in all the New Testament. (Matthew 28:1; Mark 16:2,9; Luke 24:1; John 20:1, 19; Acts 20:7; 1 Corinthians 16:2.)
  31. Six of these texts refer to the same first day of the week.
  32. Paul directed the saints to look over their secular affairs on that day. (1Corinthians 16:2.)
  33. In all the New Testament we have a record of only one religious meeting held upon that day, and even this was a night meeting. (Acts 20:5-12.)
  34. There is not intimation that they ever held a meeting upon it before or after that.
  35. It was not their custom to meet on that day.
  36. There was no requirement to break bread on that day.
  37. We have an account of only one instance in which it was done. (Acts 20:7.)
  38. That was done in the night-after midnight. (Verses 7-11.) Jesus celebrated it on Thursday evening (Luke 22), and the disciples sometimes did it every day (Acts 2:42-46.)
  39. The Bible nowhere says that the first day of the week commemorates the resurrection of Christ. This is a tradition of men, which contradicts the law of God. (Matthew 15:1-9.) Baptism commemorates the burial and resurrection of Jesus. (Romans 6:3-5.)
  40. Finally, the New Testament is totally silent with regard to any change of the Sabbath day or any sacredness for the first day.
Here are one hundred plain Bible facts upon this question, showing conclusively that the seventh day is the Sabbath of the Lord in both the Old and New Testament.*

This list is full of false teachings and they stack together as big lies.
The scriptures in Gen2:1-3 does say that God rested from all His work on the seventh day of creation. Where is your facts that God went back to work weekly and rested with Adam?

Hello brother Cribstyl, nice to see you again.

Off you go then brother. Prove your claims. They are God's WORD not mine. You provide your own words here that are not God's. Only God's WORD is true and we should believe and follow it over the teachings and traditions of men that break the commandments of God. JESUS says those who knowingly follow the teachings and traditions of men are not following God *MATTHEW 15:3-9.

Maybe you can show where in all the bible does is say (SOLA SCRIPTURA; Scripture only please)...

1. That God's 4th commandments 7th day Sabbath has been abolished?

2. That Jesus is a Sabbath?

3. The Sabbath (seventh day) was ever changed from the seventh to the first day of the week?

4. Where we are told to keep the first day of the week holy?

5. Where the first day of the week (Sunday) is ever called a holy day?

6. That says that Jesus ever kept the first day (Sunday)?

7. That tells us to keep the first day in honour of the resurrection of Christ?

8. Where the first day is ever given any sacred name?

9. That affirms that any of the apostles ever kept the first day as the Sabbath?

10. From any apostolic writings that authorizes Sunday observance as the Sabbath of God?

11. Where we are told not to work on the first day of the week?

12. That says the seventh day is no longer God's Sabbath day?

13. That says the seventh day Sabbath is ABOLISHED?

14. Where the apostles ever taught any convert to keep the first day of the week as a Sabbath?

15. Where the first day was ever appointed to be kept as the Lord's Day?

16. Where the first day of the week is ever called the Lord's Day?

17. That says that the first day of the week was ever sanctified and hallowed as a day of rest?

18. That says that the Father or the Son (Jesus) rested on the first day of the week?

19. That says that Jesus, Paul or any other of the apostles taught anyone to observe the first day of the week as the Sabbath?

20. That calls the seventh day the “Jewish Sabbath” or one text that calls Sunday the “Christian Sabbath”?

21. Telling man to keep the first day of the week holy or to worship or rest on the first day of the week?

22. Authorizing anyone to set aside God's Sabbath and observe any other day?

23. Showing any of the apostles keeping the first day of the week as the Sabbath?

24. Authorizing someone to set aside the fourth Commandment and observe any other day of the week?

25. Where any apostle taught us to keep the first day of the week as the Sabbath?

26. Declaring that the seventh day is no longer the Eternal Sabbath day?

27. Where Sunday is now appointed to be kept as the New Testament Sabbath or holy day?

...................

Something to think about here because we are all accountable to God come judgment day where we will all be judged by the Word of God (John 12:47-48).

God's Word makes it very clear that if we follow the teachings of men over the Word of God we are not following God...

MATTHEW 15:3-9 [3],
[3], But he answered and said unto them, Why do you also transgress the commandment of God by your tradition?
[4], For God commanded, saying, Honor your father and mother: and, He that curses father or mother, let him die the death.
[5], But you say, Whosoever shall say to his father or his mother, It is a gift devoted to God, whatsoever you might have received from me;
[6], And honors not his father or his mother, he shall be free. Thus have you made the commandment of God void by your tradition.
[7], You hypocrites, well did Isaiah prophesy of you, saying,
[8], These people draw near unto me with their mouth, and honor me with their lips; but their heart is far from me.
[9], But in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.

If we are KNOWINGLY breaking ANY of God's commandments we are not worshipping God.

Look forward to your thoughts...

God's rest and the Sabbath is not the same thing. The Sabbath day is a sign of God's rest.
"God's rest" was not accessible to man until God invited them. Scriptures say: Those who were first invited did not enter because of unbelief.
Heb 4:6 - Seeing therefore it remaineth that some must enter therein, and they to whom it was first preached entered not in because of unbelief:
It should be clear that keeping the Sabbath and entering God's rest are not synonymous.

Sabbath Truth

Gods REST is the SEVENTH DAY SABBATH.

GENESIS 2:1-3
[1], Thus the heavens and the earth were finished, and all the host of them.
[2], And ON THE SEVENTH DAY God ended his work which he had made; and he RESTED [שׁבת; shâbath H7673; Keep Sabbath] on the SEVENTH DAY from all his work which he had made.
[3], And GOD BLESSED THE SEVENTH DAY AND MADE IT HOLY: BECAUSE THAT IN IT HE HAD RESTED [שׁבת; shâbath H7673; Keep Sabbath] from all his work which God created and made.

links to...

HEBREWS 4:1-9
[1], Let us therefore fear, lest, a promise being left us of entering into HIS REST, any of you should seem to come short of it.
[2], For to us was the gospel preached, as well as to them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it.
[3], For we which have believed do enter into rest, as he said, As I have sworn in my wrath, if they shall enter into MY REST: although the works were finished from the foundation of the world.
[4], For he spoke in a certain place of the SEVENTH DAY on this wise, And GOD DID REST THE SEVENTH DAY from all his works.
5,
And in this place again, If they shall enter into MY REST.

KEY POINTS OF HEBREWS 4:1-5

NOTE: CONTEXT is God's REST from the SEVENTH DAY SABBATH REST OF CREATION (v4-5) and those who BELIEVE and FOLLOW GOD's WORD enter into God's SABBATH REST as GOD did on the SEVENTH DAY of the week. CONTEXT is GOD's SEVENTH DAY SABBATH REST and those who believe or do not believe God's WORD and enter into that rest.

[6], Seeing therefore it remains that some must enter therein, and they to whom it was first preached entered not in because of unbelief:
[7], Again, he limits a certain day, saying in David, To day, after so long a time; as it is said, To day if you will hear his voice, harden not your hearts.
[8], For if Jesus had given them rest, then would he not afterward have spoken of another day.
[9], SO THEN IT REMAINS FOR THE PEOPLE OF GOD TO KEEP THE SABBATH.

KEY POINTS OF HEBREWS 4:9

Now notice Hebrews 4, verse 9: “There remains therefore a SABBATH rest to the people of God.” In verses 1, 3, 4 and 8, the Greek word for “rest” is katapausin. It means “rest.” But in verse 9, the Greek word for “rest” is sabbatismos, which is a Hebrew word—Sabbat, which means “the Sabbath”—combined with a Greek suffix—ismos, which means “a keeping of” or “a doing of.” Put together, sabbatismo means “a keeping of the Sabbath.” When correctly translated, Hebrews 4:9 should read, “There remains therefore a keeping of the Sabbath to the people of God.”

[10], For he that is entered into HIS REST (v9 SABBATH REST), he also has ceased from his own works, as God did from his.
[11], Let us labor therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief (Heb 3).

............

CONCLUSION: HEBREWS 4 is talking about the Gospel rest of BELIEVING and FOLLOWING God's WORD; v29 Learn of me; v30 my burden (doing) is light. This agrees with Hebrews 4:2 For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it. HEBREWS 4:9 is in reference to God's SEVENTH DAY SABBATH REST which is the CONTEXT shown in HEBREWS 4:1-5. HEBREWS 4 therefore with context added is saying that no one enter God's Sabbath rest if they do not BELIEVE God's WORD or follow it (Gospel rest of JESUS the living Word of God) *MATTHEW 11:28-29.

God bless.

False..... "Rested" is a verb with no time noted in it's usage and "Sabbath" is a noun that literally means 24hrs of rest. (that why it's written "...rest(7673) of the Holy Sabbath(7676)
h7676 Sabbath
So, what youve said above is false. The Bible says that God rested on the seventh day not Sabbath day. You claim that God rested on the seventh day Sabbath is an international falsehood.

In conclusion......Sabbath is not written or implied in Genesis anywhere. The word rested is also define as ‘to cease’ or to finish.
If I’m right your 100 so-called facts are mostly falsehood.

Hello brother Cribstyl, nice to see you again.

The scriptures provided in the posts to you are not false at all. However, your argument here is a false one. What does rest being a verb and the Sabbath being a noun have to do with anything? The Hebrew word for REST is the verb for keeping the SABBATH while the HEBREW noun Sabbath is what is being kept. Let's have a look at the scriptures and the Hebrew word meanings.

RESTED 7673. שָׁבַת shâbath, shaw-bath´; a prim. root verb; to repose, i.e. desist from exertion; used in many impl. relations (caus., fig. or spec.):—(cause to, let, make to) cease, celebrate, cause (make) to fail, keep sabbath, suffer to be lacking, leave, put away (down), (make to) rest, rid, still, take away.

The word RESTED used above in Genesis 2 is the root word used of the 4th Commandment. This word means to "KEEP SABBATH" to desist from exertion [context is work or ending work and blessing and making the SEVENTH DAY a HOLY DAY].

Now let's look at God's 4th commandment noun for Sabbath...

EXODUS 20:8-11 [8], REMEMBER the SABBATH DAY, to KEEP IT HOLY. <Why?> [Because God made it Holy for mankind and commands us to keep it as a Holy day] [9], Six days shalt thou labor, and do all thy work: [10], But the SEVENTH DAY IS THE SABBATH of the LORD thy God [This is a direct reference from God's Word defining what the Sabbath is; The SABBATH = the SEVENTH DAY OF THE WEEK]: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates: <WHY> [11], For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and RESTED THE SEVENTH DAY: wherefore the LORD BLESSED THE SABBATH, and MADE IT HOLY.

NOTE: The reason for the Sabbath Commandment is to REMEMBER the God of creation. He rested on the SEVENTH DAY of the WEEK, BLESSED the SEVENTH DAY OF THE WEEK and made it a HOLY DAY that no work is to be done. v11 Refers back to Genesis 2:1-3 and the origin of the Sabbath. v8 shows that this commandment is a MEMORIAL of creation v11 [the reason for the 4th commandment]. Let's now look at the origin of God's 4th commandment...

Now let's look at the Hebrew noun sabbath...

SABBATH 7676
. שַׁבָּת shabbâth, shab-bawth´; noun intens. from 7673; intermission, i.e. (spec.) the Sabbath: every sabbath.

The SABBATH 7676 שַׁבָּת shabbâth, is the noun here or the name of the SEVENTH DAY that God BLESSED and MADE HOLY while REST 7673 שָׁבַת shâbath, is the verb of keeping the Sabbath rest for which it was made.

............

CONCLUSION: The SABBATH as defined in God's Word as *EXODUS 20:10 the SEVENTH DAY OF THE WEEK because God BLESSED the SEVENTH DAY and made it a HOLY DAY in EXODUS 20:11 repeating GENESIS 2:1-3. The Hebrew word for REST 7673 שָׁבַת shâbath, is the verb used for KEEPING THE SABBATH by RESTING. While the Hebrew word for SABBATH 7676 שַׁבָּת shabbâth, is the noun or the name of what is being kept which is the SEVENTH DAY that God blessed and made HOLY. The reason the SABBATH was made was for mankind to REST, CELEBRATE and REMEMBER the God of creation and the CREATOR and LORD of the SABBATH *MARK 2:27-28. As shown above through the scriptures and the HEBREW word meanings your conclusion is a false one. Sorry brother, God's WORD disagrees with you. This is only sent in love.

Hope this helps brother.

The scriptures provided in the posts to you are not false at all. However, your argument here is a false one. What does rest being a verb and the Sabbath being a noun have to do with anything?
The scriptures are the truth but your added commentary overwhelms what is written. Here are all the uses of the word for "rested" Shabat (7673) not Shabbat (7676)
The KJV translates Strong's H7673 in the following manner: cease (47x), rest (10x), away (3x), fail (2x), celebrate (1x), miscellaneous (7x).

There are 10 times where Sabath (7673) is transliterated as REST (KJV)

Gen (2) Exo (5) Lev (3)
The fact that Gen 2 translated as "rest" and not "Sabbath" is a fact you want to change.
That's not going to happen on my watch. So your statement below, that God rest is the Seventh day Sabbath is false and nowhere in scripture or Strongs definition. You added "keep Sabbath" to (7673) is deliberately false or ignorant because (7676) means Sabbath and (7673) mean rest.

False, False, False, You've twisted what the Strongs definition says. It say "Keep" (in relationship to Sabbath) not "keep Sabbath" as you claim. Why would you change the definition LGW?
Here are the facts from Strong without your edit in red.

shâbath, shaw-bath'; a primitive root; to repose, i.e. desist from exertion; used in many implied relations (causative, figurative or specific):—(cause to, let, make to) cease, celebrate, cause (make) to fail, keep (sabbath), suffer to be lacking, leave, put away (down), (make to) rest, rid, still, take away.
Here's your edit

by removing the () colon around Sabbath, you've shamelessly changed the definition from "keep" (in relationship to Sabbath) to "keep Sabbath".

I'd rather not at this time, because you keep changing the truth into a lie.

This is sad.....

Here's your edit

You do know brother as shown in the previous post in both the scriptures and the HEBREW word meaning of REST (VERB) for KEEPING SABBATH and SABBATH (NOUN) being the SEVENTH DAY of the CREATION WEEK that God BLESSED, set aside and made HOLY *GENESIS 2:1-3; GOD'S SEVENTH DAY SABBATH is God's 4th Commandment which is one of the 10 commandments *EXODUS 20:8-11 that give us the KNOWLEDGE of what SIN when broken right *ROMANS 3:20; ROMANS 7:7; 1 JOHN 3:4?

As shown earlier the SEVENTH DAY IS THE SABBATH (NOUN) and RESTING used in GENESIS 2:1-3 is the VERB meaning KEEPING SABBATH. We KEEP SABBATH by RESTING on the SEVENTH DAY OF THE WEEK. RESTING is the VERB to KEEP SABBATH

God's 4th commandment is one of God's 10 commandments that give us the KNOWLEDGE of GOOD and EVIL; SIN and RIGHTEOUSNESS *ROMANS 3:20; ROMANS 7:7; 1 JOHN 3:4; PSALMS 119:172. According to God's WORD, ALL those who CONTINUE in KNOWN UNREPENTANT SIN will not enter into the KINGDOM of HEAVEN *HEBREWS 10:26-27 because they reject the gift of God's dear son *ROMANS 6:23. OBEDIENCE to God's LAW is not how we are saved it is the FRUIT of God's work in us as we BELIEVE and FOLLOW his WORD *PHILIPPIANS 2:13. If our faith has no fruit it is dead *JAMES 2:18-20; 26 and our tree will be cast down and thrown into the fire *MATTHEW 3:10; 7:19-20; 13:49-50.

God's 4th commandment is one of the ten (Exodus 20:8-11) If we knowingly break it when God asks us not to we stand guilty before God of committing sin (James 2:8-12). If we do not seek him in repentance and forgiveness we are in danger of the Judgement (Hebrews 10:26-27)

Sunday worship is a tradition and teaching of man that has led many to UNKNOWINGLY break the commandments of God. Jesus says that if we follow the traditions of man that break the commandments of God we are not following God (Matthew 15:3-9)

There is not one scripture in all of God's Word that says that God's 4th Commandment is now ABOLISHED and we are now commanded to KEEP Sunday as a Holy day. Who should we follow the teachings and traditions of men or the Word of God? Who should we believe the Words of men or the Word of God?

In times of ignorance God winks at but now, <when a KNOWLEDGE of the truth has come> calls all men everywhere to REPENT (FOLLOW) (Acts 17:30-31).

by removing the () colon around Sabbath, you've shamelessly changed the definition from "keep" (in relationship to Sabbath) to "keep Sabbath".

Your confused brother. The HEBREW word for REST used in GENESIS 2:1-3 is in reference and CONTEXT to the HEBREW WORD to KEEPING (VERB) the SEVENTH DAY SABBATH (NOUN). The brackets around SABBATH שַׁבָּת shabbâth 7676 in the HEBREW word meanings are what is being kept = RESTING ON THE SEVENTH DAY IS KEEPING SABBATH. Which is also scripture CONTEXT of GENESIS 2:1-3. Look at where the commas are in the definition they have KEEP and SABBATH together because KEEP is in reference to SABBATH which is also CONTEXT of GENESIS 2:1-3. Sorry brother your claims are false ones as the definition is the same as intended which is REST used here in GENESIS 2:1-3 means to KEEP SABBATH which is the VERB or doing through REST.

This is sad.....I'd rather not at this time, because you keep changing the truth into a lie.

There is only truth in the living WORD brother. There was only scripture posted shown below. Is this your response to God's WORD? These are God's WORD not mine brother and there is nothing sad about them or lies in them at all. Only God's WORD is true and we should believe and follow it *ROMANS 3:4 over the teachings and traditions of men that break the commendments of God. JESUS says those who KNOWINGLY follow the teachings and traditions of men are not following God *MATTHEW 15:3-9. According to God's WORD it is those who claim to follow God but KNOWINGLY do not keep his commandments that are not telling the truth *1 JOHN 2:3-4.

..........

Hello brother nice to see you again. I am trying to work out how what you have posted here has any relevance to GENESIS 2:1-3 (Origin of the SABBATH) and EXODUS 20:8-11 God's 4th Commadments to REMEMBER and KEEP the SEVENTH DAY SABBATH as a HOLY DAY of rest?
First of all LGW. What I am saying is exactly what is written in Gen 2:1-3.
It says; God rested on the seventh day. Your argument is God rested on the Sabbath day. You have no proof that God rested for 24hrs. Gen 2:1-3 say that God rested from all His work. Sabbath is resting for 24hrs. You went as far as to edit Strong's definition for rest (7673) . I expect you to overwhelm this issue with long posts and other scriptures that cannot change what is written in Gen 2:1-3.
You do know brother as shown in the previous post in both the scriptures and the HEBREW word meaning of REST (VERB) for KEEPING SABBATH and SABBATH (NOUN) being the SEVENTH DAY of the CREATION WEEK that God BLESSED, set aside and made HOLY *GENESIS 2:1-3 that He commands us to REMEMBER, REST and KEEP HOLY in God's 4th Commandment which is one of the 10 commandments *EXODUS 20:8-11 that give us the KNOWLEDGE of what SIN is right *ROMANS 3:20; ROMANS 7:7; 1 JOHN 3:4?

As shown earlier the SEVENTH DAY IS THE SABBATH (NOUN) and RESTING used in GENESIS 2:1-3 is the VERB meaning KEEPING SABBATH. We KEEP SABBATH by RESTING on the SEVENTH DAY OF THE WEEK. RESTING is the VERB to KEEP SABBATH

In times of ignorance God winks at but now, <when a KNOWLEDGE of the truth has come> calls all men everywhere to REPENT (FOLLOW) (Acts 17:30-31).

Your confised brother. The HEBREW word for REST used in GENESIS 2:1-3 is in reference and CONTEXT to the HEBREW WORD to KEEPING (VERB) the SEVENTH DAY SABBATH (NOUN). The brackets around SABBATH שָׁבַת shâbath, 7673 in the HEBREW word meanings are what is being kept = RESTING ON THE SEVENTH DAY IS KEEPING SABBATH. Which is also scripture CONTEXT of GENESIS 2:1-3.

Hello brother Cribstyl, nice to see you again. Here is a few comments for your consideration below.
Sorry, LGW I refuse to play your games.

Nope brother. No your not.

You are trying to argue that the SEVENTH DAY of the CREATION week that GOD BLESSED and MADE a HOLY DAY in GENESIS 2:1-3 is not God's SABBATH when these scriptures clearly show that the ORIGIN of GOD'S SEVENTH DAY SABBATH (NOUN) is on the SEVENTH DAY of the CREATION week as shown in God's 4th Commandment in EXODUS 20:8-11 where GOD RESTED (KEEPING SABBATH VERB) and BLESSED the SEVENTH DAY and MADE IT a HOLY DAY for His people. EXODUS 20:8-11 is God's 4th Commandment of the 10 Commandments that give us the KNOWLEDGE of what SIN is when broken *ROMANS 3:20.

God's WORD alone defines what the SABBATH (NOUN) is in EXODUS 20:8-11 where the SABBATH is defined through God's WORD alone as the SEVENTH DAY which is in REFERNCE to GENESIS 2:1-3 that GOD BLESSED and made HOLY.

WHAT IS THE SABBATH?

EXODUS 20:10 [10], But the SEVENTH DAY IS THE SABBATH of the LORD thy God [This is a direct reference from God's Word defining what the Sabbath is; The SABBATH = the SEVENTH DAY OF THE WEEK]:

Now if GOD'S WORD defines the SABBATH as the SEVENTH DAY which GOD BLESSED and made a HOLY DAY in reference to GENESIS 2:1-3, who are you to say that the SEVENTH DAY of the CREATION week is not the SABBATH when God's WORD says that the SEVENTH DAY is the SABBATH? Only God's WORD is true brother and we should BELIEVE and FOLLOW it *ROMANS 3:4.

NOTE: the next section of EXODUS 20:10 defining REST (VERB) for KEEPING SABBATH by not working on the SEVENTH DAY of the week as God rested from his WORK of creation (GENESIS 2:1-3).

EXODUS 20:10 [10] ...... in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates:

WHY REST ON THE SEVENTH DAY WHICH GOD'S WORD DEFINES AS THE SABBATH?

[11], For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and RESTED THE SEVENTH DAY: wherefore the LORD BLESSED THE SABBATH, and MADE IT HOLY.

NOTE EXODUS 20:11 is a direct reference back to GENESIS 2:1-3 which is a direct reference back to GENESIS 2:3 descibing the reason for GOD's 4th Commandment SEVENTH DAY SABBATH is that GOD BLESSED THE SABBATH (defined as the SEVENTH DAY in v10) and made it a HOLY DAY.

Now brother if God's WORD defines the SEVENTH DAY as the SABBATH and it was made in the CREATION WEEK of GENESIS 2:1-3. Who are you to say that it is not?

Sorry brother God's WORD disagrees with you.

GENESIS 2:1-3 [1], Thus the heavens and the earth were finished, and all the host of them.

It is very clear from the scriptures that God made the SEVENTH DAY SABBATH for mankind. It is also one of the 10 Commandments that give us the KNOWLEDGE of SIN when broken.

MARK 2:27-28 [27], And he said unto them, The sabbath was made for man, and not man for the sabbath:[28], so that the Son of man is lord even of the sabbath.

............

Hope this helps.

You have no proof that God rested for 24hrs. Gen 2:1-3 say that God rested from all His work. Sabbath is resting for 24hrs.

GENESIS 2:1-3 [1], Thus the heavens and the earth were finished, and all the host of them.

God's WORD defines what a day is here and elsewhere in GENESIS 1...

GENESIS 1:5 And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. AND THERE WAS EVENING AND THERE WAS MORNING. ONE DAY.

God's Word says that God rested the SEVENTH DAY after creation. I BELIEVE God's WORD brother how about you?

Sorry brother God's WORD disagrees with you.

You went as far as to edit Strong's definition for rest (7673) . I expect you to overwhelm this issue with long posts and other scriptures that cannot change what is written in Gen 2:1-3. Sorry, LGW I refuse to play your games.

Your confused brother. The HEBREW word for REST used in GENESIS 2:1-3 is in reference and CONTEXT to the HEBREW WORD definition to KEEP (VERB) the SEVENTH DAY SABBATH (NOUN). The brackets around SABBATH in the HEBREW word definitions are what is being kept = RESTING ON THE SEVENTH DAY IS KEEPING or what it means to KEEP SABBATH (VERB). This is a part of the HEBREW Word definitions, which is also scripture CONTEXT of GENESIS 2:1-3. Look at where the commas are in the definition they have KEEP and SABBATH together because REST AND KEEP is in reference to the SEVENTH DAY SABBATH (SABBATH IS DEFINED AS THE SEVENTH DAY - EXODUS 20:10) which is also CONTEXT of GENESIS 2:1-3. Sorry brother your claims are false ones as the definition is the same as intended in the STRONG'S which is REST (VERB) is what it means to KEEP SABBATH. The HEBREW word REST (VERB) שָׁבַת shâbath, 7673 is the root word for SABBATH (NOUN; what is being rested) שַׁבָּת shabbâth 7676.

Hope this helps.

Your desperation to deceive is exposed to those who understand how nouns and verbs are used in a sentence.
For example. 'Marathon' is noun that means running for approximately 25 miles. 'Run' is a simple verb that requires more info about the duration of a run within the sentence. Every time the word run is used, it does not always relate to a marathon, but in situations where a marathon is implied, the word 'run' relates to a marathon. Your argument is the word 'rest' always relates to Sabbath. You're so false about this. You've went as far as toedited the Strong's dictionary to suit your argument. (Shameful)

Exo 20:8 - Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy.

Exo 20:9 - Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work:

Exo 20:10 - But the seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates:

Exo 20:11 - For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.

It's not known to many that Judaism believes the 4th commandment is only Ex 20:8.
They see Ex 20:9, 10 as HOW to keep it and Ex 20:11 as WHY to keep it.
This understanding gives no ambiguity that when God said: "Remember the Sabbath day to keep it Holy." That was a command to keep and never forget the Sabbath.

Exo 20:11 - For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.

(The first of 3 reasons "WHY" to keep the Sabbath does take us back to what God did at creation. (Gen 2:1-3) ....made heavens and earth in 6 days and RESTED on the Seventh day. (Does not say that God took a Sabbath.))

The second reason given to keep the Sabbath.

( You shall keep the Sabbath because it's a sign between me and you (Not the world)

Who said God took at Sabbath? Where have I ever stated that in GENESIS 2:1-3 that God took a Sabbath. If I have never made any claims or any statements that Godtook a Sabbath why pretend that I have? How can God take a Sabbath when GENESIS 2:1-3 is the place that God BLESSED and MADE HOLY THE SEVENTH DAY of the creation week to make the SABBATH? The SABBATH is the ORIGIN of when the SABBATH was made. There was no SABBATHS befoes the SEVENTH DAY of the creation week.
The second reason given to keep the Sabbath. Exo 31:13 - Speak thou also unto the children of Israel, saying, Verily my sabbaths ye shall keep: for it is a sign between me and you throughout your generations; that ye may know that I am the LORD that doth sanctify you. Rubbish. God's LAW was given to his people who are all those who BELIEVE and FOLLOW God's WORD. Your reasoning above is like saying that because God's 10 Commandments was Given to ISRAEL then it is now ok for those who follow God to lie, steal, murder, commit adultery or break any one of God's 10 commandments because they did not come out of Egypt? This has no truth in it. God's 4th Commandment is one of the 10 Commandments. You apply that reasoning not to one but to ALL because there are 10 commmandments not one.

In the OLD and the NEW COVENANT the purpose of God's LAW (10 Commandments) has always had the same role as it awlays has and that is to give us the KNOWLEDGE of GOOD and EVIL; SIN and RIGHTOUESNESS *ROMANS 3:20; ROMANS 7:7; 1 JOHN 3:4; PSALMS 119:172.

In the NEW COVENANT God's LAW is written in the HEART to LOVE *ROMANS 13:8-10.

God's ISRAEL under the NEW COVENANT are all those who BELIEVE and FOLLOW God's WORD (scripture support here). If you are not a part of God's ISRAEL then you have no part in the NEW COVENANT. Gentile BELIEVERS are now grafted in *ROMANS 11:13-27.

Under the NEW COVENANT God's WORD says that if we KNOWINGLY break any one of God's 10 Commandments we stand guilty before God of SIN *JAMES 2:10-11.

If your lamp goes out how will you find your way when the road is dark and narrow?

Sorry brother God's WORD disagrees with you. Only God's WORD is true and we should believe and follow it *ROMANS 3:4.

There is no truth in your statement brother. You are confused. As already shown in the within scripture, chapter context and the HEBREW words meanings SABBATH is a NOUN and the SABBATH REST is the VERB of what it means to KEEPING or to KEEP SABBATH. In response all I am hearing from you is your words over God's WORD. I guess you have no scriptures to share for your belief which is correct because the posts above show your in error and God's WORD disagrees with you. Only God's WORD is true brother and we should believe and follow it over the teachings and traditions of men that break the commandments of God. JESUS says those who follow the teachings and traditions of men are not following God *MATTHEW 15:3-9.
Your argument is the word 'rest' always relates to Sabbath. You're so false about this. You've went as far as toedited the Strong's dictionary to suit your argument. (Shameful)
Rubbish. Where have I ever stated that every time the word REST is used it related to the Sabbath? If I have never made any claims or any statements that every time the word REST in God's WORD relates to the Sabbath why pretend that I have? If I have made no such claims or statements to your claim then you are bearing false witness. This is shameful on your behalf. I will leave that between you and God.

What determines when REST is the VERB to keeping or to keep SABBATH is the within scripture and chapter CONTEXT of how it is applied to the scriptures. This is the CONTEXT that is being used in both GENESIS 2:1-3 and EXODUS 20:8-11 to what it means to KEEPING or to KEEP the SABBATH.

GENESIS 2:1-3 [1], Thus the heavens and the earth were finished, and all the host of them.

EXODUS 20:8-11 [8], REMEMBER the SABBATH DAY, to KEEP IT HOLY. <Why?> [Because God made it Holy for mankind and commands us to keep it as a Holy day] [9], Six days shalt thou labor, and do all thy work: [10], But the SEVENTH DAY IS THE SABBATH of the LORD thy God [This is a direct reference from God's Word defining what the Sabbath is; The SABBATH = the SEVENTH DAY OF THE WEEK]: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates: <WHY> [11], For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and RESTED THE SEVENTH DAY: wherefore the LORD BLESSED THE SABBATH, and MADE IT HOLY.

............

Sorry brother God's WORD disagrees with you.

What is the point you are trying to make here? I do agree that God's WORD says that we are to REMEBER the SEVENTH DAY SABBATH to keep it HOLY and to REST as GOD rested and we are not to forget it. This is God's 4th Commandment of the 10 Commandments that in the NEW COVENANT give us the KNOWLEDGE of what SIN is when broken *ROMANS 3:20; ROMANS 7:7; 1 JOHN 3:4.

All those who CONTINUE in KNOWN UNREPENTANT SIN will not enter into the KINGDOM of HEAVEN *HEBREWS 10:26-27 because they reject the gift of God's dear son *ROMANS 6:23. OBEDIENCE to God's LAW is not how we are saved it is the FRUIT of God's work in us as we BELIEVE and FOLLOW his WORD. If our faith has no fruit it is dead *JAMES 2:18-20; 26 and our tree will be cast down and thrown into the fire *MATTHEW 3:10; 7:19-20; 13:49-50.

Back to the OP here.
