    Hi 1F4A,

    To continue...

Regarding abortion: Support for legal abortion in most or all cases has grown from 51 percent in January 2015 to 58 percent this month. Among Republicans, support for legal abortion rose from 35 to 40 percent in 2015. The G.O.P. is still deeply divided, the poll found: 7 in 10 conservative Republicans oppose abortion rights in most or all cases, yet 6 in 10 moderate and liberal Republicans support the right to choose.

Did you read that and were you aware of it? That 6 in 10 'liberal' Republicans support the right to choose. Actually, even among the 'conservative' Republicans the gap isn't a whole lot different, 3 in 10. Doesn't actually look like, as an entire party, that your position has much standing in truth. Now, I understand that you're likely going to latch on to that adjective of 'liberal' and that's ok, but just so we are all aware that they are card carrying Republicans and there really isn't any defined group as 'liberal' Republicans except in how we want to name them when they aren't toeing the party line.

So, please, I'm all for constructive dialogue, but I'm much more swayed by someone who at least attempts to make an honest effort to understand and know the things they are talking about, rather than just taking out a 6" paint brush and slopping paint everywhere. God's word tells His children to be discerning, wise and honest. Let's try to be more like that.

    God bless you,
    In Christ, ted

    Hi 1F4A,

Yes, I was alive during the 'Hussain occupation'. I'm not even addressing anything that President Obama did. I'm merely asking for you to support your claim that Donald Trump has done more in 9 months than the previous administration. Let's not confuse the question here. What has Donald Trump done? List for me the laws and decrees and agendas that you see that he has pulled into the fight in these last 9 months regarding how we treat gay rights and abortion. Oh, and the changing of bathroom laws. Per your post, those are the things that you make mention of in regards to all these sweeping changes that Donald Trump has accomplished in his 9 months.

Near as I can tell, he's wasted a lot of time trying to end/change the current healthcare laws. He's given quite a few 'executive orders' to end some of the environmental protections that were put in place before his administration came into being. But, on these issues that you seem to be all fired up about, I haven't heard a whisper. Just as an aside, it causes me to chuckle when I remember how Donald Trump denigrated President Obama for ruling by 'executive order' and yet Donald Trump has signed more than his predecessor. This quote comes from Business Insider: Here's how many executive orders Trump signed in his first 200 days compared to Obama, Bush, and Clinton

...during his first 200 days in office, Trump signed more than Obama averaged in a year.

Now, in the days when President Obama said that everyone would be able to keep their present medical plan, and that turned out to be not true in all cases, folks were quick to jump on his statement that he made prior to the law being signed in. Yet, Donald Trump gets to charge that his predecessor seems to be executive order happy, but when Donald Trump out executive orders him in his first 200 days, nobody says a word about his not being particularly truthful in his claim that ruling by executive order is a baaaaaad thing.

    God bless you,
    In Christ, ted

Of course it will. But, the reason our country is so divided

    Just for laughs:

7 presidential actions Trump blasted Obama for and then did himself

Here's a particularly good one for a guy who can't seem to get along with his own party. On Feb. 19, 2016 while campaigning Donald Trump said this: “Obama goes around signing executive orders. He can't even get along with the Democrats. He goes around signing all these executive orders. It's a basic disaster. You can't do it.”

Now, because Donald Trump can't get along with his own Republicans, he has resorted to the same tactic with an even greater zeal for executive orders.

It really only gets better, but for a party zealot who sees their party as being the right party in all things and the other party wrong in all things, I doubt it's going to be honestly checked out. Go ahead 1F4A, check it out. All of these things I've written can be checked out. You can actually pull down from the federal website all legislative issues and agendas that have been addressed or passed. You can find copies of all the claims and statements made by Donald Trump while on the campaign trail. You don't have to depend on some, what you may believe, biased news media site for the information. You can actually download videos of Donald Trump's campaign speeches. You can get a list of all executive orders and memoranda issued by Donald Trump from a federal website. You can also get that same information regarding President Obama's administration from that same website. You can, yourself, count them.

    God bless you,
    In Christ, ted

It's easy to get caught up in the strife of the world, but it's...a diversion really, from the things that really matter. While I might when thinking in terms of life here and now prefer Mike Pence instead, I don't really want to worry on such things even. They are....mist, dust.

As James wrote it "you do not even know what will happen tomorrow. What is your life? You are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes." Dust to dust. It's an illusion to imagine some kind of meaningful safety for our mere mortal bodies that lasts. Be ready today to go through the door to that Life that lasts is my thought.

I will address this simply, Hussain Obama idolized, studied and practiced forms of communism/socialism which he mentions in his book. America is neither communist nor socialist. He also states "change is coming" if he was to be elected, you need not be a scholar to understand what that ment for America and unfortunately we found out !
God in no way shape or form tells us to except this or to be tolerant of such wicked ways... I am honored and proud to have served my God and this once great country in the Marine Corps as my Son has recently done aswel as 3 nephews. When you see first hand the demoralizing attitudes our Marine's and Troops had while Hussain Obama was the Commander & Chief, you too would realize his wicked ways were affecting every corner of the globe. We felt betrayed and made a mockery of !, but yet we fought on with destroyed or used protective vests, helmets with no liners, rifles and ammunitions that were in desperate need of replacement, no this isn't the Vietnam war i'm speaking of !, it was the reality of being lead by a idiot that decided to cut military funding in the middle of a war !!!..I'm done with this brick wall issue. If you choose to idolized that idiot, please remember the people who served and died to give you that option.
God will weed out the wicked thinkers, Amen !

How was Obama a communist or socialist? I mean, specifically? Is there a reason you keep referring to him by his second name?

Your charges about defective or inadequate military equipment sound more like a problem you might have with Bush 2, btw.

Shredding and destroying the Democrat Party that's 100% corrupt and the Republican Party that's 80% corrupt would be a good thing indeed. And the great president that Obama was, he worked hand-in-hand with them all to get them exactly where they are today.

So...you don't actually have anything you can point at where President Trump did or accomplished in his 9 months in order to answer the simple question you were asked. It is kind of telling you accuse others of "idolizing" someone but in the end, it would appear you've made an idol of President Trump just because you don't care for President Obama.

    Hi LS,

I don't get it. President Bush and the financial rules put in place even before he took over the presidency nearly pushed us over the edge of financial bankruptcy. Financial institutions crashed, and you're free to blame whatever it was that you feel created that scenario. However, President Obama, despite Donald Trump's claim that he took over from a failed administration, really did take over a failed system. He then, through carefully crafted financial tools and endeavors, slowly picked us up from the failed pile of humanity that we had become and restored our nation to financial security. Yes, today we owe a lot of money, but we're liable to find that the current president is going to leave us with an even greater debt while having done nothing for us of any real value. We'll see.

However, this idea that the Democratic party is 100% corrupt just isn't being realistic. When someone makes a statement like that, my 'this person's not really in touch with reality' meter goes bonkers. There are bad eggs in both baskets, but such generalizations just can't possibly be true. There are some good Democratic leaders. Right now, President Obama is looking a lot better, as a leader, as a gentleman, as a grown up willing and able to negotiate with other nation leaders. Donald Trump can't honestly seem to do any of that. He can't lead. Anyone would have to be blind to not see that he can't even put together a decent pile of people to run his administration. He acts like he's still acting on his 'You're Fired' TV show. He has alienated us from the entire world. There's honestly not a single world leader that approves of his methods, except for maybe his friend in Russia. He has worked as hard as he can to show that United States treaties and contracts can't be trusted. He speaks and talks about others in the most denigrating terms. Why would you mock the Korean leader by taunting him with names. That's how 3 year olds act.

Whether you agree with another world leader or not, as the leader of the United States, one should respect their position as another world leader. And he does this all the time. He makes up mocking names for anyone who happens to be on his 'I don't like you' list of the day. You honestly look up to that and believe that's the way grown up adults should act with each other? Whatever!

So, just so you know, when someone speaks in sweeping generalities of others or groups, I already know that they're not in touch with reality. So go your way.

    God bless you,
    In Christ, ted

    Hi 1F4A,

Does this mean you aren't going to answer my question. Look, I get it. You're a proud marine and that's a wonderful thing. My father also served in the marine corp. Myself, I served in the army.

    Now you've made the claim:
Any chance you'd provide your evidence of that? You know, friend, I often say that I can tell everyone that I'm the Queen of England, however getting to sleep at Buckingham Palace tonight is likely going to prove a bit more difficult...because I can't prove it! You've carried on this conversation with a bunch of claims, but have offered not a single shred of evidence to support your claims. I mean nothing. All you do is say something about someone, but you don't say, here's what that person said or did that shows everyone that what you're saying is the truth. Hey, I'm the Queen of England and I expect you to believe that just because I said so. After all, that's what you're expecting of me, right?

I'm all for Semper Fi, but at least the marines can show proof that they're always faithful. They can recount battles where men have been pinned down or caught by enemies and they wouldn't leave them behind.

    God bless you,

President Trump hasn't alienated anyone except those countries that turn to evil as there basic foundation, just as Obama did throughout his entire presidency. Obama doesn't look any better now than he did in the White House. He's still the same underhanded liar he was then, except now the spotlight no longer shines on his daily misdeeds. Obama's main objective is still to push the US toward socialism, under which, at some point US citizens will be forced to take The Mark.

President Trump's cabinet is still largely the same as it was when he first established it. President Trump also clearly stated that he didn't plan for that cabinet to be withstanding throughout his entire term. It was promptly labeled the "Starter Cabinet". His biggest problem has been exterminating the workers of evil that Obama left behind in his wake.

President Trump also called out John McCain years ago for being an underhanded God-hating fool, and not the hero that some would make him out to be. Now it's surfaced that McCain, along with Jane Fonda, a champion of the Democrat party, distributed communist propaganda in Vietnam in an effort to break the will of America so the Vietcong could slaughter Vietnamese citizens as they did right after the US left.

Your idolization of Obama and false testimony of President Trump are nothing more than tools of the enemy.

    Hi LS,

I get it. Look, for the record, I don't idolize President Obama. Yes, I think he was a reasonably good and effective commander in chief. But there have been others before him that I felt that way about and I'm hopeful that there will be others after this current administration that I will feel that way about. I'm merely looking at the facts as they seem to be regularly reported. Yes, I know that your fall back position is going to be that anything I've read that doesn't glorify Donald Trump is fake news. It's become a fairly good indicator of the staunch Trump supporter.

Go ahead and accuse me of being a puppet to the 'enemy'. That's ok. Hopefully after you read that first paragraph you'll appreciate that I don't put much stock in such claims. Yes, I understand that in your thinking Donald Trump and his cabinet have just been one big happy family. Leading the American people through to the land of prosperity and opportunity. Some paradise of Waldensian proportions. I get it.

Sadly, a fairly large majority of the American people don't see through your rose colored glasses. Most of them see Donald Trump's actions for what they seem to really be doing. He has failed through the legislative body to dump the current healthcare law and so now, in his personal zeal to get rid of all things Obama, he is going try and dismantle it through executive order. A method by which his own assessment is that it's a disastrous way to govern.

However, most of the people on the front lines of healthcare, i.e, doctors, hospitals, insurance company heads and actuators are issuing grave warnings that this method is liable to cost us individually a whole lot more. Now, you likely either don't want to carry health insurance and so see any law that would force you to do so or pay a fine, as government intrusion in your personal rights. I get that. Or you are wealthy enough that such issues as higher insurance costs across the board don't mean much to you.

But I'm an American. I understand that across this nation there are poor people who suffer because they can't afford unaided healthcare. I understand that our nation is made up of some 300+ million people and many of them are older folks who have spent their lives working for a fairly regular income that, unfortunately, didn't allow them to save in a manner that would provide them in their latter years $25-30 thousand a year in excess retirement income to pay for very expensive healthcare. I just hope, for your sake, that if you aren't one of the reasonably wealthy Americans for whom rising insurance costs is of no consequence, that you don't get sick next year. I hope that 2 years from now you're not found to have some costly disease or sickness that might mean you can't work to pay for your insurance and neither can you get any such insurance even if you do. I honestly hope for you the best and I would like to think that you also hope that for your fellow Americans who aren't as fortunate as you are.

You could, of course, be more like Marie Antoinette and just say for all those who find themselves more and more destitute because of some illness or disease, "Tough! Let them eat cake!" Or you could be more like Mr. Bumble, "More! You want more!!" While pushing such people back down into the hole from which they are trying to climb out of. I hope for you a good life. You see, my ideal of being an American is that it ain't all about me, but that it's also about the 300+ million others who live in the United States and proudly call it their home. It would seem to me that Donald Trump is a man who doesn't really care about those several millions of us who weren't born with the silver spoon that he was born with. He is largely lacking in any empathy or sympathy for those who aren't like him.

On the flip side, President Obama seemed to genuinely care that every American had the means and ability to share in American properity. That every American wasn't like him and was covered under the same constitution that promises him the right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. Donald Trump is more of a person who thinks that if you aren't like me, then you're not a true American.

    God bless you,
    In Christ, ted

You are 100% correct. Obama was a great president. Took over an economy that was on verge of collapse and in a few short years completely turn it around and hand over an economy that is on steady climb. Amazing accomplishment. And did it without bragging about sexually assaulting women by grabbing their genitals.

That best thing about Trump in my opinion: Every day he in office he make people realize what a great man Obama was and how lucky the USA was to have him for a leader.
