"Converting to catholicism"? I apologise too. I did not notice that I was in the catholic forum. Protestants (mostly) do not think in terms of converting to a denomination.

I used to watch videos made by Zackary King about his conversion from Satanism to Catholicism--it was quite dramatic. A lady gave him a miraculous medal. He held it in his hand and was instantly in the presence of the Virgin Mary. She told him to turn from evil and toward Christ. He converted that day. It's quite an amazing story.

Thanks for the welcome. I have problems with "isms" in general. I have stated my views in the wrong forum at times. I'm probably still on probation, so I am being circumspect.

I looked up the Satanic group that used to headquarter in Detroit and it looks like that chapter has disbanded. I had a feeling that group wouldn't work out in Detroit as it's pretty religious overall.
