No, the Holy Spirit as the presence of Jesus in us - it is Jesus doing the forgiving, as no-one has the power to forgive and remove sins but God.

A person who is not even a Christian, can forgive someone else's sin against them, but it does not remove the sin from the person's record in heaven. So that is not what Jesus was talking about when he said receive you the Holy Spirit. Only God can forgive and remove sins, not a priest or a disciple or a lay person.

Jesus lives in us by the Holy Spirit, not a priest. There are no go-betweens.

Thanks for your enlightment man,

May Jesus bless you all HalleluYAH

Your interpretation is obviously wrong but you can believe what you want!

This was basically my point from the get go.. I wouldn't bother repeating it. No matter how much you try they cannot see this. It won't sink in... their brains just won't allow it. Im sure if this guy is still alive whenever the or a Pope agrees to some sort of unified 1 religion with the UN he'll see the big picture with whats wrong with his silly religion till then let him be. :)

No one knows when the end will come. Period. It may be tomorrow and it may be 5,000 years from now. Only God knows.
True. But it may be the last Christmas for Pope Francis to be Pope. Someone may call for his resignation after all these blunders.

^Not entirely true... If you have the slightest idea of how bible prophecies work you'd realized a few things need to come to pass first, making the possibility of the end coming tomorrow 100% impossible.

antletems, the confessional is an add-on. Purgatory was an add-on - until as I understand it - became a subtract off ?

Purgatory appeared and then disappeared ?
What? The RCC no longer has a purgatory? What happened to it? How long ago did it disappear?

Upon futher investigation, I think it may be only the "Limbo" part of purgatory that has been removed. The Catholics here need to tell us if they think that they are going to purgatory when they die.

antletems, as a Catholic, do Catholics believe that they will go to purgatory when they die?

Okay I will answer that. :)

What Catholics believe about purgatory:

1. Purgatory exists: The Catechism of the Catholic Church states there are three states of the church, those who are living on earth, those who are in purgatory and those who are in heaven with God.

2. It is not a second chance: The soul is already saved. Purgatory is a place to pay off debts for sins that were forgiven but for which sufficient penance had not been done on earth.

3. It is not an actual place: Blessed John Paul II said in an Aug.4, 1999 general audience that purgatory was a state of being: “The term does not indicate a place, but a condition of existence.” Pope Benedict XVI said in a Jan. 12, 2011 general audience, “This is purgatory, an interior fire.”

4. Purgatory is not punishment but God’s mercy: “Few people can say they are prepared to stand before God,” says Susan Tassone, author of “Prayers, Promises, and Devotions for the Holy Souls in Purgatory” (Our Sunday Visitor, 2012). “If we didn’t have purgatory there would be very few people in heaven, because it would be heaven or hell. It is his mercy that allows us to prepare to be with him in heaven.”

5. Our prayers for the souls in purgatory help them achieve heaven: “The doctrine of purgatory recalls how radically we take love of neighbor,” says Sulpician Father Gladstone Stevens, vice rector and dean of men at St. Patrick’s Seminary & University, Menlo Park. “The obligation to pray for each other does not cease when biological life ends. God wants us to always pray for each other, work for each other’s redemption.”

6. The souls in purgatory can intercede for those on earth but cannot pray for themselves: The Catechism of the Catholic Church (958) states: “… the church in its pilgrim members, from the very earliest days of the Christian religion, has honored with great respect the memory of the dead; … Our prayer for them is capable not only of helping them, but also of making their intercession for us effective.”

7. God does not send souls to purgatory – each soul sends itself to purgatory: Once a soul sees itself with the light of God, it realizes it cannot stay in his presence until all imperfections are wiped away.“The soul chooses,” Tassone says.

8. There is no fire in purgatory: But each soul is aflame with the pain of being separated from God and with the desire to be purified so it can be in the beatific vision. Each soul also feels joy knowing it will one day be with God, Father Stevens and Tassone say.

9. There is a special day and month to pray for the souls in purgatory: Nov. 2 or All Souls’ Day is the day set aside and November is the month in the liturgical calendar to pray especially for all the souls who are in purgatory. Nov. 2 is called “The Commemoration of All the Faithful Departed,” but the church asks us to pray always for each other, including for the souls in purgatory.

10. Prayers for souls in purgatory always count: Pope Benedict says in his encyclical “Spe Salve” (“On Christian Hope”), regarding the souls of the dead, “ … in the communion of souls simple terrestrial time is superseded. It is never too late to touch the heart of another, nor is it ever in vain.”

The confessional is an add on to the bible. The priests have no authority to be speaking on behalf of Jesus in that regards. There is no go between - between Jesus and believers. The Vatican and other religious organizations would like for everyone to think so, that they are a go between. But it is a lie.
We are all ambassadors to Jesus. What does that mean? We speak on behalf of Jesus, about Jesus, godly ways we should follow with principals laid out in scripture. Our witness and ministries are diversified and so the Holy Spirit speaks through us at times, through pastors, through Catholic priests and surprise, through the Pope too.

This is yet another False Prophecy made by Pope Francis. Since he became Pope, he has railed on and on about the Threat Climate Change poses to the world. Yet there are many scientific experts who claim the dire predictions of late are "worse case" scenarios (even blatant exaggerations), which have been crafted by hand picked experts for "political" rather than scientific reasons. Is it merely a coincidence Pope Francis is the first pope elected from the developing world ?! He certainly is the perfect choice to carry such a message, isn't he ?! On July 9, 2015 in an encyclical speech in Bolivia he called world leaders who refused to do anything about the threat of Climate Change "moral cowards".

His agenda (and the Vaticans) has been to get an international accord on Climate Change passed. One that will include strong economic sanctions against violators. Is the Vatican and the Pope crafting an agreement to SAVE THE EARTH ?! Or is he crafting a "political" weapon to use against Russia (where Stalinism is being resurrected), and Communist China where the Vatican is still being impeded from expanding its' kingdom. Russia and China are the two major contributors to greenhouse gas e missions caused by dirty industry, and they will be the first two developed countries to feel the bite of those sanctions. What if the Climate Change accord becomes the catalyst that sparks a Third World War !.. What if it becomes the very thing that DESTROYS THE EARTH instead. That certainly would qualify as a False Prophecy.

"While the earth remaineth, seedtime and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night SHALL NOT CEASE" (Genesis 8:22, KJV).

The Noahic Covenant was an "everlasting" covenant made between God and mankind and all the creatures that were with Noah in the ark, (Genesis 9:9-12). Does Pope Francis not believe the Word of God ?!..

Then on September 14, 2015 Pope Francis speaks on Portugese radio "Renascena" in responce to the Syrian refugee crisis and delares, "There is a danger of infiltration by Isis, this is true". "We should only take in families, because a family gives more guarantees of security and containment, so as to avoid terrorist infiltration" (end quote).

Both the New York Post and New York Times Magazine report Isis is systematically exterminating Arab Christians in Syria and Iraq, (July 22, 2015). According to one of the largest religious aid organizations in America "Gleaning For The World" and the N.Y. Times Arab Cristian men are being beheaded and crucified by Isis, while women and children are being forced into slavery to live as Muslims or face death.

Really ?! The Pope believes we should leave these Christians who don't constitute a family anymore to their fate, because they might represent a terrorist threat ?! And how many Isis infiltrators have flooded into Europe and elsewhere around the world since September 2015 ??? There was one incident involving one man that occured on a Paris subway. Hardly the Terror Wave described by the Pope. That's False Prophecy number Two.

"Let no man deceive you by any means; for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition" (2 Thessalonians 2:3).

In July 2015 Pope Francis announced it was time for the Catholic Church to accept openly gay and homosexual couples as members of the Church laity. On July 10,2015, Pope Francis met openly with prominent members of the L.G.B.T. community in Bolivia (CNN News). Between August and September 2015, he announced common priests may now offer the rite of absolution to practioners of divorce for reasons other than adultery, abortion and couples living out of wedlock.

How can Pope Francis make such monumental reversals in established Church doctrine to the contrary ?! Would it surprise you to learn Jorge Bergoglio (Pope Francis) served as a Jesuit priest for over forty years ? As such, there can be no doubt as to his adherence to the Jesuit Creed. Have you ever heard the Jesuit Creed ? It goes like this;

"If the Church shall have defined anything to be BLACK which to our eyes be WHITE, we ought in like manner to pronounce it to be BLACK" (The Jesuit Creed).

The Jesuit Creed embodies the very definition of the prefix "avti" (anti) "to give something an opposite meaning", (as in antichrist). Jorge Bergoglio is the first Jesuit Pope in history. He is the False Prophet antichrist identified in End Time Bible prophecy. You can expect these false prophecies WILL NOT be his LAST. WELCOME TO THE APOCALYPSE.
