You are confusing God's permissive and desirous will.
Gosh thats a convenient distinction to invoke whenever it suits you.

‘It’s All Over’ — Donald Trump Cites Gordon Sondland’s Testimony as Impeachment Exoneration

President Donald Trump emphasized Wednesday he told Ambassador to the European Union Gordon Sondland he wanted no quid pro quo with Ukraine.
...
“That means it’s all over,” Trump said to reporters as he left the White House, adding he “turned off the television” after he heard Sondland’s recollection of a call he had with the president about Ukraine.
...
Sondland testified Trump told him twice that he wanted nothing from Ukraine, other than President Zelensky to do the right thing
.

It's cute how much stock you put in the President's words.
Meanwhile, on whose authority were Sondland, Guiliani, Pompeo, etc acting?

Oh wow.

Ken Starr of all people.

The right has been quoting Ken Starr again and again to DEFEND Trump. Can't wait to see how they try to distance themselves from their advocacy of Starr. I think most likely, they'll just try to ignore it and pretend it never happened.

Actually, we do not require Star's interpretation, we have the words staight from Sondland's mouth. The Dems have abused the impeachment process, thus working to create an imbalance between the Executive and Legislative branches of the US government. That kind of evil must be answered.

Even if trump's primary motivation was to diminish Biden politically, that does nothing to negate the fact that Joe Biden does not get a free pass from criminal investigations just becasue he is running for office.

If Trump profits politically from an investigation into the Bidens (unlikely since Joe Biden is not much competition), such is incidental to the necessity of not allowing the previously second most powerful man in the US government to get away from possibly abusing his position of power.

Sounds like there ought to be an AMERICAN investigation.

I wonder why there hasn't been one ... ???

If Vidman is correct, then there is never a scenario where any US President can ask a favor of a nation with less status than the US without such request amounting to a demand. Such delusional thinking typifies certain Dems trying to harm Trump's capacity to continue in his elected position.

Well, considering how well the Pres has done in keeping his word to his voter base, then yes his word caries quite a bit of weight.

Unless you believe in free will.

People make their own choices, pick their own leaders, make their own laws etc.
What? You're an atheist presumably holding to naturalism and you don't believe in pre-determinism? Under naturalism, you cannot even trust your evolutionary-formed mind. All your faculties are geared not for truth, but rather for survival.

But, on theism, yes, God's sovereign will and and man's free will are in fact compatible pertaining to the appointment of leaders.

I was commenting in the context of theism (in particular Christianity, which I know very little about).
People make their own choices, people elect their leaders, the Christian god doesn't give a candidate an unfair advantage, doesn't meddle in elections.

You seem to be presupposing Some kind of deism. Deism is untenable, contradictory, unlivable.

God does not meddle, He creates and destroys, and brings to exercises His will.

Then that would be meddling. For democratic countries it is upto people to make their own vote, based on the votes of the people, then a leader is selected.
Anyway, as I understand it, not even you are an authority on what the hidden, quiet and invisible Christain god does. If god wants to clarify, then he/she/it can clarify, doesn't need you to be the mouthpiece.

I think there is some real hope on this stuff. I like Tim Pool as a litmus test. Pool is a democrat who doesn't like Trump, but wants to be fair, objective etc. and the whole one sidedness of the coverage and the hearings has really affected him and some other You-tube video news folks I watch.

I've seen Tim Pool before. He seems to be liberal in a similar fashion to Tulsi, not dependent on the hive mentality.

I have made no such claim. But I do claim the possibility and reality of divine direction.

Then you have no more idea of whom God desires to be president then any other mortal.

They gave us 8 years of Obama.

Do some of you people approve of anyone, when it comes to the presidency? Or is every election just something that gives some a fresh reason to live/gripe for the next four yrs. lol
