Do you agree with Full Preterism?

Yes, I'm a historian and to me, perhaps because of this, the Full Preterist view is the only view that not only makes sense, but matches up Biblically and historically with the first century. When I started studying Preterism, at first as a partial preterist, it opened up the Bible, specifically...

Do you agree with Full Preterism?

Zeena, Yes, labels are a unfortunate, but necessary to us as humans. As a Full Preterist and a Christian Universalist, I've been called all sorts of names by my fellow Christians...oh well...ad homs mean little to me. But labels are needed to help define things for us. SUEDE

Do you agree with Full Preterism?

Same here, Full Preterist checking in. After a long time of study, it is, in my opinion correct Biblically and Historically. Of course...I'm also a Christian Universalist...but that's another topic. I think if people give Full Preterism an HONEST evaluation, they will adopt the view. SUEDE

    Why can't we discuss Preterism?

The ultimate truth is there is no reason. Period, end of story. There is no reason to not allow it to be discussed. I have yet to have a single person, especially a moderator, lay out Biblically much less historically why it is UnOrthodox or heretical. IMO it's actually bad to ban discussions...

    trinitarian or not?

didaskalos, Sorry, my personal experience with them has been of the Jesus Only or 'Oneness' camp. But, I'm glad if there's some objective data that shows otherwise, SUEDE

    Universalism, Is it True?

Phil 3:9 And be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith: Gal 3:8 And the scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the heathen through faith [i.e., Christ's faithfulness]...

    Universalism, Is it True?

Someone might say "if all be redeemed then why believe!?" Why? Because, as a 'believer' I know there is no conflict between me and God – the bondage of fear has been removed: Heb 2:14-15 Inasmuch then as the children have partaken of flesh and blood, He Himself likewise shared in the...

    Universalism, Is it True?

Shammah, Here is the other article, please read them and consider. It addresses the big 'faith' issue you are leaning on. It's in two parts due to length, How broad is the canvas of God's love, how far the strokes of His grace? To what lengths does it reach...

    Universalism, Is it True?

Hey Shammah, I'm short on time, prepping to go on a much needed vacation, so here are two posts to read and consider until I return - I think they do a better job explaining what I am trying to convey to you. Here's the first one, and due to length I'll post the second one in a separate post...

    Universalism, Is it True?

Hep, +++"Sit down and study the BIble." What a novel approach.+++ Unfortunately in today's world, it is. +++The Bible says "Lean not unto your own understanding, in all your ways acknowldege Him and He would direct your paths.+++ True. But that doesn't mean we should NOT study the Bible...

    Universalism, Is it True?

Shammah, +++The faith vs. works discourse is entirely about salvation. The entire point of it is that salvation is not achieved by our works but received by our faith in Christ.+++ Well, certainly that's an issue with righteousness no doubt. But it's not a salvation issue. +++But where you...

    Universalism, Is it True?

Shammah, +++Aaah a cessationist...why then may I ask are you debating in the SF/PC forum? +++ The topic was about Universalism, so I figured I would make myself available for discussion. I don't care under what sub forum it was posted under. +++This is not a subject open for debate here. You...

    Universalism, Is it True?

IamRedeemed, +++No, it isn't there. Anyone can use the Bible to claim most anything they want. But in order to do so, one has to reject many other Scriptures.Such as in the case of Calvinism. But it doesn't make either of them true.+++ That is correct, which is why it's important to study and...

    Universalism, Is it True?

Shammah +++OK...so I'm a denominational parrot? rofl, yeah right.+++ Nope, never said that. +++The thing about "profiling" people is that it isn't always accurate. To summarize everyone who doesn't agree with your belief system as unstudied or unlearned is a sad misconception.+++ It is a sad...

Shammah Ben Judah, +++Bro, I can promise you, if there's anyone who approaches the Word without preconceived or denominational suppositions...he's talking to you...:)...I've never been a member of any denomination. MTK +++Given the Talmud, and the two schools who did believe it . . . sorry but the majority would.+++ For certain classes, but that 'doctrine' hasn't carried on. Besides, what the Pharisees believe has no relation on the Bible as Christians see it. +++No they are not. Our...

    Universalism, Is it True?

MTK, +++Well, what they believe now matters little to me . . . we have the documents that attest to the ancient belief that they DID, even if they do NOT now. What they believed then matters most to me because it helps construct the cultural climate and expectation that Christ ministered in...

    Universalism, Is it True?

Shammah Ben Judah, +++Universal salvation doesn't seem to fit in the universal context of scripture...+++ Sure it does. It just requires that one actually study the Bible and do so without any preconceived or denominational presuppositions. It's odd at first, I admit it, I was once a...
