Things I wish Christians wouldn't say

I wonder if people who say things like that, really mean well? I had a friend who tagged that onto all her insults or judgements. Pretty sure she didn't REALLY have good intentions.

    Bad-mouthing her good friend

I would just be honest with her and tell her 100% of what you just said. I mean, right or wrong, all things should be done in kindness right? You seem to get that so be honest with the girl, don't use 'tactics'. If you want a relationship (friendship or otherwise) it should be based on...

Stephen Colbert goes to Capitol Hill

I very much enjoy Colbert, and at first, I was confused by why he went in character. However, after listening to his answers to questions, it seems like a very clever tactic to get attention for this issue and his follow ups were very clear and well presented. This is politics. Politics...

As a liberal Christian, what is your definition of a Christian?

You're right. I would say the only common denominator is the "Christ Part"...but beyond his existance, it varies.

    the "talk"

Thanks for the thoughts all. I gave her the "talk" tonight...I'll call it part one. I got the female anatomy out of the way, and she had questions. I answered her questions, honestly. Mostly she got stuck on the idea of getting a period and after that was ready to quit. We'll resume the...

    Oh PLEASE help me

Everyone has good advice above. I was a teen and pregnant too. Don't let ANYONE tell you what to do here, it is between you and God. I would insist you remember one thing...Your pregnancy is not a sin. Your BABY is not a sin. What you may have done, that got you pregnant, may have been...

As a liberal Christian, what is your definition of a Christian?

A Christian is someone who believes in his heart that Christ died for his sins. Beyond that, I don't think details matter. Though in this country, Febble is right...Christian is just what people call themselves. No way to tell the diff between culturally Christian and believer

All I want is his grace. The rest of my "wants" are useless and I don't want them from Him. I'm pretty sure with Him, in a relationship with Him, whatever I have will be enough.

    School Lunch

thanks for the link. I don't see how Nachos can be a meal. I mean...then there is a salad, but it's iceburg lettuce and cheese at my daughter's school...that's no good either. We are going to try sending lunch from now on. PB&J is better then greesy nachos.

Does a man have to provide for his family?

there is a big difference between chooses not to work and can't work. Jesus gave to those who couldn't provide for themselves...laziness is sinful, but he sounds like he is taking his situation and doing what he can with it. Who knows, maybe God allowed for him to be in this situation, to...

Does a man have to provide for his family?

You know...if you think about the question..."must a man provide for his family?"...and say the answer must be yes, "provide" does not have to be money, traditional work, etc...but he must provide something...I would guess you could probably list out lots that your husband provides for you.

Could you help me on this one? I'm wondering if I understand predestination, as the site, states: 10.4 Others, not elected, although they may be called by the ministry of the Word, and may have some common operations of the Spirit, yet they never truly come unto Christ, and therefore cannot...

My son just told me he is gay. Is he???

Maybe, replace the behavior here. Think of it, like, how would you react if he told you he was a pathological liar? Or a theif? Sin is Sin and there are a multitude. If the belief is that homosexuality is a sin, remember there are a lot of other sins, that can be a problem, too, so react as...

    Concern about drawings

I hate to be the one to ask, but are you sure there has been no abuse to the child drawing the pictures? Often, children who have been abused will fantasize or act out that abuse on smaller children, as a method of control. And, if not, then yes, this can change with counseling, regardless of...
