Best Area To Raise A Family In Chicago?

What is the best family-friendly area of Chicago Metro? I may be relocating there soon and with 3 children under age 10, I need to be sure I choose a great area of the region to live and raise the family. Somewhere with low crime, good schools, affordable home prices, etc. Any other tips...

    What To Expect

I didn't mean the website was not helpful, actually it is quite detailed. I meant that the church only has Sunday am services and that is it. No mid-week service, no Sunday School or small groups, no mention of children's church, etc. But, yes, the other stuff you answered is helpful!! Thanks!

    What To Expect

It has been awhile since I looked at this thread, so sorry to come in late. I think I have noticed that there is not much in the way of edification as well. The local Episcopal church here has a website and they have the Sunday am service and that is it. What gives? Do they usually have a...

    Inquiring

Thanks everyone, I will see if I can get my hands on these. You know, I have attempted to speak to priests locally, but they do not seem receptive. Is the RCC not very active in "recruiting" or conversion attempts? I sent one priest an email and it took over 2 months before I got a...

    What Is Their Error

Thanks guys! Good stuff. So, when did the RCC go astray with these doctrines and why? Was it gradual, was it certain men? What makes it erroneous? For the sake of argument, the word Trinity is not in the Bible either, nor is the word Bible. Why did it take 1500 years before people...

    What Is Their Error

I was thinking the other day that I do not know exactly what Protestants believe, or more correctly, why they believe the RCC to be in error. What specifically are the errors? Scriptural reference? When did the error occur or when did they go astray? In no way is this thread to bash...

    Inquiring

Does anyone recommend a particular book or anything for someone inquiring about Catholicism? I was raised in an area that has very little Catholics. However, in my search for where God wants me, I always come back to the Catholic Church. I know nothing firsthand about it. I have no friends...

    2 Chronicles 7: 14-16

What about Romans 11:26? All means all and that's all all means. Does it mean in the Tribulation, in the future, now, ????

    Islam

I can tell you that they are not interested. However, bless you in your endeavor. Jesus commands to go out into all the world preaching the Gospel and making disciples of all nations. Just because it may be close to impossible, doesn't mean you shouldn't do it. I think you're looking to...

    2 Chronicles 7: 14-16

Thank you! Exactly why I brought this up. It becomes easy to take Scripture out of context, which in this case is what my Jewish friend is doing.

    2 Chronicles 7: 14-16

However, their argument, not mine, is that God states "forever". Not until Messiah comes and changes it all. The OP was asking if this verse is misinterpreted, which it obviously is.

    2 Chronicles 7: 14-16

While studying the OT last night, I came across this section in 2 Chronicles. Is it possible that this can be misinterpreted as meaning that the Jewish people can be saved without Christ? If their sin is forgiven, then is that not the same? 14 If my people, which are called by my name, shall...

    Discussion With A Jewish Man

And another thing this brings up. We know the Jewish people do not actively seek to convert people. Should we actively seek to convert them? Obviously, the answer is yes as the Great Commission says to go out into all the world and preach the Gospel and make disciples of all nations. But, I...

    Discussion With A Jewish Man

You know, the line of David is not all Hebrew / Jewish. There were some non-Jews in there when you trace it back. I always found that interesting.

    Discussion With A Jewish Man

Thanks all! Arunma, I used your post / citation for him to read. And Matthan, you're right, the worst he can do is ignore me! This is a religion thread on my local newspaper's website. The hard part is there is a Catholic that keeps butting in and questioning everything I say! He is...

    Discussion With A Jewish Man

I, on another forum, have been in discussion with a Jewish man. It started as a question from another new believer that asked why we do not have church on the "Sabbath". Of course, my explanation comes from the NT. It has turned into a discussion about Jewish traditions and the corruption of...

    Scriptural Referrences

This is all very helpful, very good stuff. As you can maybe understand, someone, such as myself, that grew up in a RM Church and was only exposed to AoG through freinds, is having a hard time with it. It is something I am not used to and with that find it somewhat difficult to believe or...

    What To Do?

Good points. My only concern is the AoG belief that one has not received the Holy Spirit until the evidence of speaking in tongues. I don't see that in the Bible. I see that we receive the Holy Spirit at the time we are saved. I'm praying!
