The theory of evilution seems to be contradictory.

As others already pointed out, man hunts by endurance, not burst speed. Not only is the upright posture more energy efficient, it also provides a huge advantage at the body temperature regulation. In the heat of the noon the sun only shines on the top of the head and the shoulders, which have a...

MRAs are secretly Necrophiliacs or Homosexuals

Sounds fine to me, but for myself i like to add, "...while acknowledging that men and women do have biological differences." Namely, pregnancy. It's both a burden and a privilege. It's a burden because of the obvious implications about the income/job situation. It's also a privilege because...

    Bad Parenting or Child Endangerment/Neglect????

What if we expand on the "what if" line of reasoning: By the same line of reasoning a single parent should not be allowed to take care of a toddler. What if the single parent suddenly dies of a heart attack or suffers some other incapacitating health problem, alone at home with the toddler...

    Bad Parenting or Child Endangerment/Neglect????

True, but i feel that this case is different. It's not just about loving luxury, bad manners and laziness. My generation most certainly was guilty of all these things as well in the eyes of our elders. This time the whole parenting style has changed, and as a result a significant share of the...

    Bad Parenting or Child Endangerment/Neglect????

Preface: When i talk about the current generation, i don't mean all of them but a significant share of them. I don't intend to generalize, but i'll just refer to "that generation" for simplicity's sake. True - but note that i mentioned just the requirement of parental consent in the part in...

    Bad Parenting or Child Endangerment/Neglect????

Of course things can go wrong. Things also can go wrong if the parent is in the room next to them. They were capable of ordering food from the room service, so i would assume that they are capable of dialing the same number and call for help e.g. in case of an accident with a medical emergency...

    Bad Parenting or Child Endangerment/Neglect????

IMHO a well raised 12 years old and a 9 years old together can be expected to cope with the situation of being alone for ten hours. It's certainly somewhat challenging to them, but children do need challenges to learn and to grow into self-responsible adults. Putting the phone on vibrate so that...

Paula Deen Caught Eating a Cheeseburger.

I have no idea who that is. Is there a reason to assume that she should not ever eat a cheeseburger, as opposed to merely very rarely eating unhealthy stuff?

    A Game of Thrones

That's one of the good things about the series/books - no-one is safe, and quite some more characters will get the axe. I'm not going to spoil it though ;) How about the end of the season finale? I think it was done well, albeit the version in the books is slightly different. It gives me...

Man Robs Bank for $1 to Get Medical Care in Jail

My canteen at work as run by Aramark as well...i'll have quite an anecdote to tell my co-workers tomorrow then ;) It's pretty good though.

    New photos!

Wow, now i feel flattered! :) I use dropbox for publishing them (Dropbox - Online backup, file sync, and sharing made easy.) One installs it to the computer and then one can select a folder which will automatically be synchronized with a web server and any other computer on which one has it...

MIT scientist develops solar cell that can power a house with a gallon of water

I'm highly sceptical of that. The article claims that leaves split water into hydrogen and oxygen with their photosynthesis. As far as i know this is totally wrong, they synthesize sugar instead. The "ten times as effective" part too is misleading at best, as the efficiency of photosynthesis...

Is it wrong for Christians to wear crosses?

Ir doesn't bother me either. But sometimes i do wonder if the same type of symbolism had been used if Jesus had e.g. been hung instead of crucified.

Legal immigrant illegally jailed for 5 days.

Meh...millions would be excessive, methinks. $10,000 should be more than enough, and the cops involved getting reprimanded.

    Yellow Rain Falls In Tokyo

A discharge of plutonium of the magnitude required for this could not have gone unnoticed, and the rain then would have to be massively radioactive with no room for discussion. It can't be that hard to hold an alpha radiation detector at a sample of that rain and watch it go nuts, can it? Since...

    Are Germans racists?

Yep. Historically this comes from Germany having been divided into dozens or even hundreds of more or less independent mini-states in the past, with frequently shifting borders. This ment that at least some time in the past few hundred years the neighboring village may have belonged to an...

    Another death through ignorance...

Care to explain why?`The vast majority of these people tried praying for recovery and they ended up dead nonetheless. If they had tried modern medicine and died, you'd consider them victims of that, wouldn't you? So...why can these not be considered victims of failed faith healing?

    Another death through ignorance...

How about the 1.4 million deaths from TBC that Ar Cosc mentioned for 1900? I think it's safe to assume that a majority of them and their relatives tried praying for recovery. It didn't work for them. So i'd chalk, say, a million of those up to deaths caused by faith healing.
