What made you leave? If you don't mind me asking. I was in one of the mianline protestent churches and I had never heard of days like Epiphany, Maundy Thursday, Ascension, or Pentecost, etc. If I did hear them there must not of been much emphasis put around them.

I've been a christian for awhile but where I was attending never did anything for Lent or Ash Wendsday or anything like that. I am a recent Lutheran "convert", so this will be my first Lent. I am going to try to give up the meat and chicken...........I think.

:wave: Thank you for the welcome Jim. The church I attend is part of the LCMS. Do you know if there are any real diffrences between the Synods? Do we all worship and celebrate these days the same?

I kinda like the NKJV. My church uses the NIV.

I also have never celebrated Lent or alot of the other days. I have just recently become a Lutheran and ,to be honest, am seeing everything in a whole new light. I have been a christian for awhile but never really felt renewed like I do now.

Reading your Bible and praying are ways that we worship and fellowship with GOD. They are most definatly important. Praying is how we talk to GOD and how he responds, it is very important.

I think it is a great idea. I will put you in my prayers that GOD helps you find a way to accomplish all the things you want to do.

I will keep this forum in my daily prayer.

If you go out and sin, sin, sin, I definatly think you are not going to make it to heaven saved or not.

All I have to say is I am very much looking forward to going to heaven! Then we won't have to think about all of these denominations, and all of the doctrines to follow. We get to worship God and give Him all of our praise! :clap::amen: Amen to that!!!!!

I belive that people shouldn't be labled by their denomination. Because if you think about it we are all trying to get to the same thing (Jesus Christ and Heaven) in the end. Some people would rather have incense and chants to make them feel like they are worshiping and other people believe that...

I definatly like the Jeremy Camp myself. But in a close race I also like Todd Agnew and Mercy Me.
