Just a note: you left off Dr. Pipa's last name. Here's a link to the book in case anyone's interested.

    Does what tell you, JM?

    Sam Storms?

A downside to Storms is that he's a continuationist (on miraculous spiritual gifts). But I really appreciate his writings in support of amillennialism.

    Calvin on the Sabbath

Check out the April '09 issue of New Horizons on the Sabbath: New Horizons I agree that Gaffin's book is helpful.

Some one show me where free will is in the BIBLE

Brothers, Free will is there. It's just a matter of what kind of free will it is, how it works out in our anthropology with regard to the effects of the fall, and how it relates to faith and our role in salvation. The WCF, ch. 9 is helpful (note the Scripture references throughout and the...

    Good Reformed Podcasts?

Just a note, these guys aren't Reformed; nor are their apologetic methods compatible with a consistently Reformed worldview.

    on tongues?

The discussion here on the passage in 1 Cor. 13 lacks reflection on the eschatological implications of what happened on the Day of Pentecost (cf. post #5). It doesn't account for "the 'already/not yet' paradox of the coming of the kingdom in the death and resurrection of Christ." SOURCE...

    on tongues?

Looking at it from the perspective of biblical theology, the manifestation of the gift of tongues in the upbuilding of the early Church has great redemptive-historical significance. Think about what happened at Babel. The languages (tongues) were multiplied and confused and the people were...

    Are all Calvinists amillenial?

I've found amil to be the default position among ministers in the OPC. There are some postmil men. The historic premil's are few and far between.

    on tongues?

No, and this is coming from someone who was raised in the "pentecostal holiness" tradition. Gaffin's book Perspectives on Pentecost is probably the best treatment I've read on the topic. I highly recommend it.

    Ask a Presbyterian

Breanne, I know I am a bit late with a response but I urge you to read the articles from the April '09 issue of the OPC's New Horizons magazine dealing with the Christian Sabbath: http://opc.org/nh.html?issue_id=158

what are the main theological differences between reformed baptist and presbyterian?

In addition to what's already been said, I would point out the glaring difference in church polity. Baptists are congregationalists (each local congregation is independent and autonomous) while we Presbyterians, obviously, hold to the presbyterian form of church government. Thomas Witherow's...

    Icon change request....

The burning bush has been a sort of "icon" used down through the history of the various denominations within Presbyterianism. Here's the icon we use over at GF. Feel free to use it here in any way you see fit.
