    Apostacy

Alucard, let's say someone converts to another form of Christianity because they sincerely believe, as erroneous as he may be, that the Catholic church is not the true church. Is he still committing the sin of heresy/schism in "full knowledge?"

    Apostacy

Can someone explain full knowledge and consent? I'm a bit confused about it. One can assume that if someone leaves the church, they're doing it with incomplete knowledge. If they had full knowledge of the Truth of the One Church, they wouldn't leave it in the first place. I misunderstanding...

    index of forbidden books

If the Church is such a consistent moral force, why did the index have to be downgraded from law to moral force? Using an analogy that has been beaten to death in this thread, why on God's green earth would the government downgrade an absolute law against drug use or an unrestrained warning...

Nuns allowed to go on pill "to prevent rape"

If there is some ambiguity, let's think logically. Rapers rape for sexual pleasure, not children. Contraception does nothing ot combat that.

Nuns allowed to go on pill "to prevent rape"

The goal was not preventing rape: you arguing that is ludicrous. I can't believe you could possibly try sell that as a logical argument with a straight face. Oh, I'm sure those Congo "savages" would decide not to rape a nun since she's taking birth control. The goal was to prevent pregnancy if...

Nuns allowed to go on pill "to prevent rape"

Of course a crack will be exploited. The teachings of the Catholic Church are supposed to be airtight in logic and morality. A tiny chink in the armor IS fatal, just like a tiny chink in an immense dam is tantamount to it's downfall.

Nuns allowed to go on pill "to prevent rape"

If there church says contraception and abortion is wrong, and then turns around and either approves or does not condemn the use of such contraceptions (possibly abortive) among their own nuns, it is not only an inconsistency, it is a hypocrisy.

    Sounds awfully inconsistent to me.

$35Million pledge by USA for tsunami victims.

Comparing the goverming using your taxes in a fashion you don't like to THEFT is pretty ridiculous, and seems to me to be a halfhearted attempt to veil some sort of selfishness or prejudice against third world countries (see references to "backstabbers" and bottomless pockets). Of course the...

$35Million pledge by USA for tsunami victims.

GregChant1545 (The initail [sic] amount was enough. We have become the world's bottomless pocket, especially for countries that will be the first ones to stab us in the back.) and NYJ (In helping set up an initial evaluation of the situation, I think 35 million was more than reasonable.) are...

    Contraception in other Religions

Natural family planning strikes me as a practice/method which attempts to outwit sperms and eggs.

    catholic view on birth control

Again, good points, and I give them to you. I'd like to point out my personal position is that people who are not married have no business having intercourse in the first place, so in my beliefs STDs and condoms shouldn't be an issue. However, I'd like to invite people to look at the Center...

    catholic view on birth control

Excellent link, and good point. However, I'm in agreement with this article in implicating that the greater evil is promiscuity - and I'm going to do research onto this link's data because it's an article on a catholic website, and I want to see the numbers. But I see where you're coming from...
