    Things I learned from LOTR

I've learned that Karl Urban has the most tear-jerking yell ever. I'm a sap.

    Favourite Christmas Movies

Muppets Christmas Carol! I haven't been able to see it in years and I miss it desparately. I'll see if it's on tv anytime this week (I don't have the money to dish out for the DVD). Also gotta love the Flinstones Christmas Carol. Really, any version of the Christmas Carol.

    LOTR: ROTK extended edition

Oh gosh. I had shivers up and down my spine the entire second half (well, I did in the theatrical version, too), but in one of the extended scenes, I started to cry. I won't give away which one it is, but I never cry in movies. I felt like my heart was being wrenched out. That's the amazing...

    Peculiar attractions... ?

I have a thing for pastors' sons. It's not deliberate (I never know they are to start out with), it just turns out that way. I don't know why. Look-wise, I really like darker coloring (sort of Romanian-ish). Also like the big shoulders.

    Anyone here from Washington State?

I'm from NW Washington. I haven't been to the Puyallup fair, but my cousin shows her pigs there every year.

    Finding Neverland

Oh yes, looking forward to this movie a lot. I've been following it for over a year...Johnny Depp is excellent and it just looks plain fascinating.

    Any other weirdos like me?

I actually sort of liked Crime and Punishment. Some parts of it, anyway. The nightmares were really interesting...but I think the climax was the only enjoyable part of the book. Anyway, back on topic, I do it, too. I read a lot of books, and if I reach a part of the book that depresses me (one...

Does anyone like to read historical fiction novels?

I love historical fiction. I usually read more about ancient history; biblical fiction, set in old Greece, of Ancient Egyptian novels (I'll read anything about Cleopatra I can get my hands on). I also love old English, Greek, and Norse mythology.

What's in your VCR right now?

Disney's Beauty and the Beast. I don't know what's in my DVD player...either Bridget Jones's Diary of the Two Towers.

What is the one movie you would never recommend anyone seeing?

This old English version of the French book "Le Petit Prince". Absolutely horrible, with about a $4.70 budget and this creepy little kid that I'm surprised didn't show up in my nightmares. Fortunately, my French teacher fast forwarded during the singing and dancing.

    Movies that make you cry

I never used to cry during movies (or during any other event in my life...I hate crying with the fire of a thousand burning suns). Now I find myself getting teary-eyed during commercials. My hormones are betraying me. Though I can say that the only movie I have truly cried during was the...

    LCMS National Youth gatheing

We're leaving tomorrow evening and taking the red-eye from Seattle to Orlando. Hopefully I'll be able to sleep on the plane (I usually can't), otherwise I'm doomed. Still excited, though!

    LCMS National Youth gatheing

We're going to Daytona Beach Thursday and Friday and Disney world for a few days afterword. Universal would be cool, too, but we only have so much money...

    LCMS National Youth gatheing

Forgot to ask...is anyone else planning a pre-Orlando party? I was kidnapped by my youth leaders at 12:30 last night and taken to my friend's house for a mini-pool-party. That's the last time I ever sleep in only my underwear again. Even if it is extremely warm. What part of the gathering are...

    Ken from Jeopardy

He won again...I think now he has 920k, or something around there. Sheesh, that's a lot of money. I'd say he's going to break a million... What happens with the consecutive wins if they go into a special edition Jeopardy, like college week or celeb. jeopardy or something? Does it just get...

What TYPE of point of view do you like in a book?

I like third, because you usually get a better sense of all the characters (though my current novel is written in 1st person...bad me). I like some Christian novels...but they usually have to be suspenseful (I love Frank Peretti). I like pyschological thrillers, fantasy, humor, and historical...

What is the Worst Book You Ever Read?

Ugh...the Awakening. I've read it. It was interesting to read, I suppose. But I immensely disliked Edna. The most clueless character to ever be featured in any novel...and probably the most selfish. I would say that the worst books I've read have been read because of English class :). Not...
