I was in a different discussion which confused me.  I mentioned that I needed to talk with God more and read my bible to get some answers on some of life's questions.  I was told that I should not really rely on the bible because it was written my man and that the bible is not the word...

Why believe in God?  What does it take to believe in Him? Yes God is the maker and ruler of the universe but so what?  He is up there and I am down here.  I can't see Him, but people tell me that He can see me and knows me.  I am told to talk with Him thru prayer but how...

I have heard some one tell a christian to live by the laws of the land. What exactly are the "laws of the land"? I think I have some idea and if I am correct than I don't think it would be a wise choice for the christian to live by them.

I am new to reading the bible, can anyone tell me where is a good place to begin and where to go on from there.  I would greatly appreciate it. :rolleyes:        I am not sure how this will come out, being this is my first time posting.  Forgive me
