Your mission, should you be predestined to accept it: The night before flying out to the Galapagos Islands for some much needed R&R studying and banding the local iguana population, you have a prophetic dream revealing that through a series of aviation mishaps and poor decisions you are soon to...

Divine Simplicity and the eternality of God's Decree

[this post is a new branch from here] @Jonaitis, To your point: "If I confused you, I apologize. Ryan Mullins, who is an open opponent of DS, came up with this conclusion in his denial of DS. However, if we must affirm DS as essential, then my suggestion is that we must face up to the music...

Why does “Forums list” receive a red notification badge?

When I select it, I get sent to the forums list (as expected) but I see no new content. The badge then clears, but is quickly re-raised by God-only-knows some action. I can’t find anywhere to turn this off. What am I missing? :grinning:

Seeking recommendation: book order for 2023 yearly bible reading

Greetings - my 2022 yearly bible reading followed the Discipleship Plan, spreading each daily reading across four different places in the bible. For 2023, I'm going to switch to a book-by-book format (i.e. one book at a time, but not necessarily in the order of the bible). Any thoughts on...

    Faith and authority

Note: this thread is a branching of the discussion here between @fhansen, myself, and indirectly many others. All are welcome of course, but be forewarned, if you don't at least have a 14-inch beard as long as Calvin's then I will automatically presume you are incorrect, always, in everything...

    My confession: anti-Calvinist Youtube videos

Okay, I've got to come clean with this, if only because I've been having increasingly hostile dreams with a spectral Calvin at the foot of my bed. The first few dreams had a single tear etching down his cheek, but then they progressed to scowls that only a Frenchman is able to achieve, and...

The Adoration of the Mystic Lamb

This is the center panel from the Ghent Altarpiece by Jan Van Eyck, commonly known as "The Adoration of the Mystic Lamb". It's recently been restored and the team has an excellent site allowing you to explore the piece in it's full glory: Closer to Van Eyck I would recommend putting on some...

    Greetings!

Greetings all and glad to have found the forum. I'm a brand new Christian in the Toronto area, having been brought up by mostly secular parents and with very few friends and family that are religious in any way (well, other than all still being de-facto christians coasting on the inescapable...
