Missouri nuns targeted in multiple ‘extremely disturbing’ shooting incidents, motive unknown

I live in MO. This happened in my "backyard." The Great Persecution of the Church is well underway here in the "free" US of A. At the rate that "Woke" culture is sprawling: within 10 years, the Roman Catholic Church will be persecuted as a "hate group"

Which Apostolic Church do you belong to?

I am a Roman Catholic of the Archdiocese of St. Louis, shepherded by His Excellency (metropolitan) Archbishop Mitchell T. Rozanski

    Early Christians on Communion

Leaving aside the very specific Thomistic explanation of the Real Presence (i.e. Transubstantiation), which has led to not a few disagreements...the Real Presence in the Eucharist was clearly an Apostolic belief.

    2054 project

Yes he did. It was a shame he felt obligated to step down. Perhaps things would be different between Catholics & Orthodox if he remained. Or, perhaps not. Our rift is a 1000 years in the making.

I pretty much agree with these points.

How do I tell a Catholic that I don't believe in the Pope?

I suppose there needs to be a bit more context here: are you trying not to offend somebody? Is this person a friend or family member who is Roman Catholic? Is it a person you are debating? Context would help. Speaking as a Roman Catholic, I not offended at all if somebody said they don't...

Novus Ordo Mass offered as the Vatican II Council Fathers intended in Sacrosanctum Concilium? God forbid it!

    2054 project

I largely agree, other than the "to do more" part...which is a bit vague. IMHO opinion, the single most important thing in my imaginary 2054 Project is for the reigning pope to fully recognize the autocephalous status of both the Orthodox & Eastern Catholic churches...seeing his Primacy as a...

    EO and RCC.

I have to admit that you are spot-on in this regard. It's no so much as leaving "some wiggle room" or "backdoors"...but exhaustively defining even the minutia...leaving no space for discussion or fraternal debate. A certain put-off if I were on the receiving end.

    2054 project

I admit upfront that this is a fantasy of mine: but hear me out. 1054 AD is the "official" date of the formal schism between the Sees of Rome & Constantinople. However, the estrangement between East & West had been occurring long before that, certainly by the time of the rise of the Carolingians...

I say this as a Roman Catholic: that was back when we were an undivided Church. If one decides to study Maximus's life, you'll see. Nonetheless, Maximus is a Father of the Church as recognized by both the EO and the RCC, per Pope Benedict XVI.

Also Maximus the Confessor: "discovered" his writings in the seminary while studying the Lateran Council of 649.

    EO and RCC.

That sucks (or blows...depending upon your take of things.) I am a stalwart Roman Catholic, but by no means a Ultramontanist. I recite the Nicene-Constantapolitian Creed at Mass in its original form...no filioque. My personal choice. I do not consider myself a heretic or schismatic for doing...

    EO and RCC.

Antipathy over theology...who would have ever thunk it?:sorry: ...or cultural identity? We're guilty on both sides, to be honest. Nonetheless, we have a lot in common that unites us more than it divides us. I admit I'm being naively optimistic. A dreamer can still dream....

Is God Insincere With The Gospel Offer?

I do. Now we're getting somewhere. No offense, but you should have stated that upfront. Perhaps stalwart Calvinists on this forum should weigh in now.

    opinions on Metropolitan Hierotheos

Not objecting to anything. Sorry if I implied that. I'm was simply curious to know what you thought. I've merely read some of his books and don't place any personal meaning/significance to them...just wanted opinions from EO members of this forum.

Is God Insincere With The Gospel Offer?

Well, you seemed to answer your own "question"... I don't think any educated Christian, regardless of confession/denomination, believes that the Gospel was meant only for the Jews or a select group. Who "falsely" teaches this?
