What Do You Think Of Mockery?

I think it depends on the intent behind the mockery, i.e. are you trying to humiliate and upset someone? Or are you trying to use a rhetorical tool to get them and others to see the error of their ways?

    Dreams

I became a Christian because of a dream. However I don't see much value to the majority of dreams, most of them are nonsensical, and many are outright demonic. If a dream increases your faith, and inspires you to come closer to God then there probably isn't much harm in paying attention to it...

    Have You Tried Fasting?

In my experience it is very hard to keep the spirit of fasting. Avoiding food, or avoiding certain foods is relatively simple. Having the right approach and attitude is difficult. I suck at it

When does a fallacy become a lie?

A fallacy can be used sincerely because the person using it can be convinced that it is logically sound. If someone demonstrates to that person why it is logically unsound and they understand it, but continue to promote that fallacy, then it enters the territory of dishonesty

Why are all Pauline letters in the Bible?

I'm no expert, but my understanding is that they were considered 'of Paul' in other words despite possibly not having been authored by him, they were of his line of thought, from his students etc. Of course the other line of reasoning says they were authored by him, and modern scholars just...

    confused...

You're not supposed to hate it, you're supposed to appreciate it within its right context. When you have sex with someone you bond with them, psychologically and spiritually. It is psychologically and spiritually damaging to form these bonds and then break them off like it is nothing. Not to...

Under the New Covenant, where is the Biblical text for Worshipping on a particular day (ie Sunday)

The Orthodox Church is the Apostolic Church it dates back to 33AD. The Church affirms the Ten Commandments, it also affirms Sunday as the Lord's day upon which the Eucharist is celebrated.

Under the New Covenant, where is the Biblical text for Worshipping on a particular day (ie Sunday)

Yes. But it also grants authority to the Church, who instated Sunday worship, it has the authority to do so, had the grace of God in so doing, and therefore that takes precedent.

Under the New Covenant, where is the Biblical text for Worshipping on a particular day (ie Sunday)

Agreed. There is a propensity for error in the Church, this is attested throughout it's history and was the reason for many Ecumenical Councils. However, this is not the same as stating that the entirety of the Church would fall into error. The Gates of Hades not prevailing against it, as well...

Under the New Covenant, where is the Biblical text for Worshipping on a particular day (ie Sunday)

Well the point I am getting at is, Sunday worship is so far as Christianity is concerned, pretty ancient. The Didache mentions gathering together on the Lord's day to break bread as early as 70-120 AD. Now the Bible does make it clear that the Church is the Body of Christ with Him at it's...

Under the New Covenant, where is the Biblical text for Worshipping on a particular day (ie Sunday)

Would you describe the practise of Sunday worship as apostasy?

Under the New Covenant, where is the Biblical text for Worshipping on a particular day (ie Sunday)

There was no Bible when St. Paul wrote those words. All they had was his letters and word of mouth. Or did someone go back in time and give them a copy of the Bible? For the first 3 centuries Christianity was tradition. How can that tradition have been based on the Bible if it did not exist at...

Under the New Covenant, where is the Biblical text for Worshipping on a particular day (ie Sunday)

How can the Bible be trusted as a source of doctrine if tradition is such a bad thing, and the Bible itself is a product of tradition? What about 2 Thessalonians 2:15? It clearly instructs people to follow the word of mouth traditions in addition to those written. The Orthodox Church does...

Under the New Covenant, where is the Biblical text for Worshipping on a particular day (ie Sunday)

This highlights the problem with post-Reformation Christianity. The simple answer is that it isn't in there, not explicitly. Nor is the precise doctrine of the Trinity or the nature of Christ. Hence why when you declare the Bible as the only source of doctrine, rather than a unified doctrine you...

On the Fallibility of Sola Scriptura

Sola Scriptura is self-refuting. It doesn't say in the Bible that the Bible should be the sole source of doctrine. Furthermore it actually says the opposite. St. Paul tells Christians to not only follow the traditions written in his Epistles, but also the traditions passed on in person via word...

    Christian Witches

Well it's a book that solidified my conversion to Christianity. It should be said that it is written from an unapologetic Orthodox Christian perspective, so it may not be for everyone. Generally he discusses such things as 'Christian Yoga', Pentecostalism, as well as touching on the interest in...
