OSASers choose to reject Jesus’ warnings about losing salvation!

The ironic thing about this is the verses you posted are actually referring to you

    want to talk about OSAS?

Actually if you think the gospel (OSAS) means promoting sin that proves you haven't been regenerated and still have a carnal mind... It also proves you are prideful and that you think the gospel isn't fair. That is your problem you think that, you are the one turning the grace of God into...

Are you saved because you believe? Or do you believe because you are saved?

Neither is true. You don't have to be water baptized to be saved, nor do you have to be water baptized to prove you are saved. You are baptized by the Holy Spirit upon belief and that is what saves you and it's a one-time done deal. Water baptism is good to do out of obedience, as a part of...

Universalists: How do you explain the "problem passages"?

Of course. What gave you the idea that I wasn't and that I didn't believe that? That's an essential foundational issue in my eyes. Though I don't call it "The Trinity" but rather "The Triune Godhead" as that phrase is more inline with scripture.

Universalists: How do you explain the "problem passages"?

That would make sense then. That would be the only explanation. It's still reaching though, but if satan, the beast, and false prophet get tormented "for the ages of the ages" and then eventually perish and get destroyed, that would make sense doctrinally.

Universalists: How do you explain the "problem passages"?

What about in John 3:16 where it says "should not perish"?. Surely that's describing eternity as that passage refers to salvation of the soul? So how do you get around the word "perish" for the wicked then? If universalism was true? Unless you think that only refers to the unholy trinity? Or...

Are you saved because you believe? Or do you believe because you are saved?

Does everyone believe? No. Therefore not everyone will be saved, it says to those who believe in him.

Are you saved because you believe? Or do you believe because you are saved?

You obey by believing. The bible says exactly what it means to obey. It means to believe the gospel... Romans 10:16 “But they have not all obeyed the gospel. For Esaias saith, Lord, who hath believed our report?” Romans 5:19 19 For as by one man's disobedience many were made sinners, so by the...

Are you saved because you believe? Or do you believe because you are saved?

My bible (KJV) says Jesus alone saves. John 3:16 16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Are you saved because you believe? Or do you believe because you are saved?

They got water baptized after they got saved. It didn't save them. It was just a public declaration of faith like we do today.

    Terrified to take medication

I don't know what "woo" means, but I believe in the bible because it's the truth... It's not about me. It's about truth, plain and simple, that will never change ever.

Are you saved because you believe? Or do you believe because you are saved?

According to this, there is more than just water baptism... Matthew 3:11 11 I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance. but he that cometh after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost, and with fire:

Are you saved because you believe? Or do you believe because you are saved?

^^That's referring to the days of Noah, the protection from the flood. Noah and his family were saved from the flood. Water baptism is a work and it cannot save anyone. Only the work of Christ on the cross saves. None of your works can save you!

Are you saved because you believe? Or do you believe because you are saved?

If by repent you mean changing your mind to believe on Christ for remission of sins then yeah. Acts 16:30-31 30 And brought them out, and said, Sirs, what must I do to be saved? 31 And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.

Are you saved because you believe? Or do you believe because you are saved?

When you say baptism, are you referring to water baptism? Or baptism of the Holy Spirit? No one was ever saved by water baptism nor anyone can ever be saved by it. That's simply a shadow/ritual done depicting the death, burial, and ressurection of Christ.

Universalists: How do you explain the "problem passages"?

It's not that hard to believe Hitler will be scrubbing toilets on New Earth or Stalin will be a garbage man for all eternity on New Earth, knowing God's grace. Technically that is still eternal contempt in a way. Sure you live on new earth forever but you'll never get to see the face of the Lord...

Are you saved because you believe? Or do you believe because you are saved?

All sins were already paid for on the cross 2000 years ago. But you don't receive the gift until accepting it by faith. So you actually have to believe it. It sounds like semantics, but it changes the nature of the beauty of the gospel when you say you have to do something to be forgiven (your...

Universalists: How do you explain the "problem passages"?

I heard people argue that by saying Jesus is life, because he is the way, the truth, and the life. So the narrow way leads to life (Jesus Christ and the kingdom, seeing his face) but not literally just living on New Earth unglorified forever.

Universalists: How do you explain the "problem passages"?

Interesting. I don't underestimate God's grace. I heard some people say the narrow way being the way to kingdom itself, not just new earth, which is based on knowing God and actually having a relationship with him (being born again and then finally glorified). And also I've heard people say that...

why do we make it personal when others disagree ?

The answer is one word, pride. I know I may sound hypocritical here by even making "essentials" but I think the real gospel is worth fighting for. So I think the essentials of unity should only be confined to 3 things: 1. Who Jesus says he is (that he is God) 2. What Jesus did for us (that he...
